Speakercraft is a well-known manufacturer of HT stuff. Mostly they sell in-wall speakers but they have started going into "box" speakers as well. They're pretty good quality. The other brand I've never heard of.

I talked to Brian this week about that, he told me that in 3-4 weeks they should have tested several sub candidates for this set. He offered to send me one to test as soon as he had made the choice. (I bought 5 sets of speakers, hence the offer) I'll post reviews the moment I have it...

Well I took the plunge and ordered a demo set. It'll be a few weeks before I see them because I had them shipped down to Guatemala. If they're all that this review says, I'll have a decent line of good-priced speakers to promote for entry-level home theater.

I have to admit, the price is insane, you couldn't get anything even remotely similar at CC, BB, etc. for that kind of money. I'm tempted to order 10-12 sets and resell them down in Guatemala (second home) to get people weaned off the Bose (no highs, no lows, must be BOSE! LOL!) snake oil...

LOL that was EXACTLY what I was going to suggest! Take the extreme bass load off the main speakers, give it to the sub where it belongs and the other speakers will come to life! All the deep bass stress is releived and they can then reproduce the frequencies they were truly designed for...
