Truth finally coming out: Sony was willing to lose more money than Toshiba to win

Actually the PS3 has shown some vulnerabilities lately with the release of MGS4 quite a few PS3 have had the dreaded Black Screen of death. But I am starting to see a industry wide pattern, Quite a few of the All in one machines we have purchased on campus have been dying as well. all due to...

    Blu-Ray Bashing Blues

You know the whole "Supply" supply thing is used by Sony on any product they can't move. Look at the PS3 last year where the Head of SCEA said if you could find one on the shelf he would pay $1200 bucks. The penny arcade guys found lots of them out there. Hirai claims that price was never PS3s...

Sony not betting the farm on BD now. Offer xbox style video market place.

But I wasn't saying anything negative. Read the posts again. What I was saying is that Sony had dropped the whole "Downloads will never work" attitude and giving credence to Live Video Marketplace. You and Ice interpreted it as a Bash Sony Thread.

They are justifying MS's video market place by doing it. Thats my point. They can't refute it when talking about BD being the only way to get HD in the future is also my point.

Betting the farm, putting all eggs in one basket = doing only 1 thing in determination that the one thing succeeds Diversifying is what they are doing now, And I would bet it is because there is a crack or 2 in the old armor.

Former HD-DVD Supporters, Do You Want BD To Fail?

Nope, It's all we have now. Sony ( I know its the BD group but Sony is A HUGE part of it) has a past record of micromanaging formats to death. It scares the living bajesus out of me. Especially since my PS3 purchase will coincide with FFXIII release, And I will want to be able to get...

Sony: BD to stay high, We can't meet demands.

Yeah is why I used the :(, I had hoped Sony wouldn't try the whole "Artificial Shortage" Lie they used with the PS3. *shrug* iTWire - PS3 shortage of stock or demand? oh well, guess BD group owns the market now they can do whatever they want.

MAXCONSOLE - Playstation 3 - Blu-ray disc prices to stay at a premium as Sony struggle to meet demand :(

I told you so... HD-DVD vs bluray

It can't be done. You have to have complementary goods for prices to go down, and none exist yet. You have to hope that the BD group doesn't price fix, and that natural selection causes the team members to compete against each other.

I told you so... HD-DVD vs bluray

No what I am saying is that if BD wants to grow, they are really going to have to dig deep and cut prices extremely low. Average consumers who cannot afford food cannot afford a $500+ player (or 400 for that matter. )

I told you so... HD-DVD vs bluray

I tell you what Inflation is crazy right now. Went to aldis groceries store yesterday, Bags of flour marked $.89 rang up at $1.69. Almost everything food related was just through the roof almost double what I Paid 4 months ago. My purchasing power has literally been cut in half. I will...
