I may just buy Apple TV (and ditch Dish Network) When/If this happens

Well, AGAIN, that's AVERAGE per month. Since I did the math, you figure that I'd be spending $192 a year on what I watch on a regular basis that isn't available OTA. 192 / 12 = $16 That's what I personally watch that isn't already on regular TV which I am watching OTA. And that's not...

I may just buy Apple TV (and ditch Dish Network) When/If this happens

Well, again that's average. After you've ordered your seasons there are some months you won't pay anything unless you order movies or something. The regular network tv stuff I have an OTA antenna for. And stuff like Burn Notice, Mad Men, Discovery Channel stuff Is available for the shows I...

I may just buy Apple TV (and ditch Dish Network) When/If this happens

That's the average, yeah. The movies are in HD. The TV shows, some are, some aren't, but then that's the case with Dish, too. It has Mad Men in HD where Dish doesn't.

I may just buy Apple TV (and ditch Dish Network) When/If this happens

Yeah the subscription service will be a while, but I'll be purchasing the half-dozen shows I do watch, plus movies and (free) podcasts in HD. I've read where average costs for someone who watches that many TV shows and rents two or 3 movies is close to 16 a month. About 80 percent less than...

Slacker announces caching for the iPhone

99 times out of 100 I use Wifi at my house. That's where I'll be doing all my caching. 3G is good for the listening experience (in certain places more than others), but that won't be a concern anymore.

Slacker announces caching for the iPhone

I had heard from someone over at Slacker that they signed a deal with Blackberry for exclusive caching, but who knows. Just glad its here, finally.

Slacker announces caching for the iPhone

Maybe it was Apple opening up for storage on the phones (Rhapsody and Spotify, which also do it are fairly new) but Slacker caching has been a Blackberry exclusive fo 1 year, since CES 2009, and couldn't be done on any other smartphone platform, Apple for otherwise. That comes straight from the...

Slacker announces caching for the iPhone

What's the caching speed like, was it over 3G or Wifi? I'm looking forward to this definitely.

Slacker announces caching for the iPhone

Slacker announces caching for the iPhone | CES 2010 - CNET Oh, I'm sorry...I can't hear you over the deafening chorus of angels singing "Hallelujah!" Yes, it's true: the iPhone and the iPod Touch are one step closer to subscription music and I'm pleased as punch about it. Slacker, which...

I may just buy Apple TV (and ditch Dish Network) When/If this happens

I watch about a half dozen shows on cable. Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch, Burn Notice, and a few others. All are available on iTunes and I can get others I don't have like Mad Men since Dish doesn't carry AMC in HD. Plus Netflix for Movies and MLB.Tv for baseball, plus ESPN360 for...

I may just buy Apple TV (and ditch Dish Network) When/If this happens

Saw a report on the news the other night about someone who has done something similar (yes, it was a slow news day,) and between apple TV and Tivo with Netflix the cost savings was about $50 a month. Since I've pretty much quit watching sports, besides baseball, there's nothing I'll miss there...

Not really, no. Listen to baseball on the iPhone app, beyond that I could give a crap about sports. I will probably give that up once the season is over.

Google OS - What do you think?

Nice, but it would take a lot to give up my Mac OS X. If you could dual boot on Boot camp that might be a consideration.

Cost of Apple TV vs. Dish Network Turbo GOLD + Platinum

We're cutting costs around here, so I'm looking at purchasing Apple TV and just purchasing season passes of shows we watch as opposed to paying $80 a month for stuff we never watch. I watch baseball but I can get that on the iPhone now. Moreseo when they start putting every MLB.TV game on the...

    Slacker Radio

I believe they scratched that idea. The satellites were supposed to be used to refresh while you were driving, but you could easily do that at home. They really served no other purpose.

    Slacker Radio

They recently added a new 'Modern Jazz' channel that is a dead ringer for the now-defunct Beyond Jazz channel on XM. I've been listening over the past few days and it is an awesome station. :up

Nice. But I could think of other things I would want first. It is a very cool feature, just not available on the iPhone app yet.

    Anyone Have Apple TV?

I'm big on Hulu as well, this might just do it for me. I do wonder how much of the Apple Store content is in HD? Most of the stuff I watch is non-network stuff like Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters and Deadliest Catch on Discovery, some History Channel stuff, and the occassional movie although I...

    Anyone Have Apple TV?

I don't really have either one, and I'm not a gamer. I have a Wii but that's pretty much it. I have a 722 from Dish Network but it acts as a DVR (which is nice) and a tuner and not much else. I'm not an Apple fanboy but I do have a lot of their products, from the Macbook I'm typing on now to...
