Is there a way to get past a password on Vista?

It is actually a free disk. Not sure if it works on Vista, but with XP, NT, and 2000 if you must reset the password, the bootdisk that Sampatterson linked to works great. But I don't like changing the password as it will fubar encrypted files if the user has personal file encryption set...

My first venture into Vista 64 and a new Quadcore

Not sure if you are going to have a prob. But if you do it is most likely somewhere between M$ Vista or buying something from Hewlett Packard. (aka Packard Smell) Tip on the HP. Once it is running go into the controll panel and remove all of crap. It will double your speed.

    Reusing Hard Drives

If they are from a Tivo then the partitions are Linux. Windows won't recognize them. The partitions will need to be broken down with fdisk or a disk manager. Then a new DOS partition created and formatted in FAT32 or NTFS.

Thinking of switching to Verizon Wireless

Reliabitlity is why I switched from Cingular. P.S., the MoroRIZR has 2 megapixel cam, can take a 2 gig micro SD for music/video. You can pick one of those up online for less than $20.

It is the A/C causing noise in the lines. Pick up an x10 xppf from EBAY and put it on the A/C. It will prevent interference from feeding from the A/C to the rest of the circuit. I have had this a couple of times in my house with various electronics. Used to solve it by putting the...

F8 is the wrong key. That is to bring up the Windows Startup Menu to allow you to boot into safe mode or go to the recovery console. It has NOTHING to do with booting from CD. Boot the computer. When the screen first comes up, look for a message on the screen. I think it is in the upper...
