Actually there are 4 solder points. 3 of which are ground/anchor points. 1 of which is the positive connection for the DC circuit. At least it looks like there is an additional pin in the center of that connector.

IMO, I prefer to have my music/entertainment seperate from my phone. First, because cell phones are not permitted where I work. Second, I like to get a new phone once a year.

This is actually my first iPod other than a shuffle. I use the WiFi in bed when I don't want to have my heavy laptop. I love it, battery lasts long, and pages are easy to read. I can read most pages without zooming in as well. It also doesn't annoy the wife.

I got a new 16GB iPod Touch for Xmas. Anyone else get one? This thing is pretty sweet and I have yet to try out the WiFi features.

you will probably hear the same variety of music you hear now. However, with digital there is more room for expansion. If you live out in the boonies and only get FM stations off repeaters you may have to wait a bit longer for HD stations.
