    Macbook model number?

If it shows 2009, A1342 seems correct. Looks like a late 2009 model, polycarbonate unibody.

Info is usually on the bottom. I checked my Macbook Pro from 2009 and the serial / model # is there. http://www.ehow.com/how_6864468_model-number-macbook.html. If you get the serial #, you can figure out the model #.

    Printer recommendations ??

I use both an inkjet and laser at home. HP BW Laserjet and always a Canon for inkjet. The PIXMA series are all-in-one and have Airprint. I'm in the market too for something w/ Airprint. Looking at the MG6420 & 7120. I've been using generic ink cartridges for fraction of the cost of OEM. Haven't...

    Just bought our first iMAC!

Very good info. My 24" iMac from 2007 is still going strong. Only issue I had was an HDD failure a couple of yrs ago. I paid a local Mac shop to replace. Restored all my data from my TM backup and was back up and running in no time. I may end eventually replacing with a mini. But for what we use...

    Just bought our first iMAC!

You should see a pop-up stating the device is synced to another machine. ( or something like that ) Not sure if that's still the case. What I meant was it would remove all content on the device and would then sync from the system you have it plugged into.

    Just bought our first iMAC!

When you plug in your devices to your iMac for the 1st time, I suspect it'll say it's synced to another computer. You may need to wipe it out. As long as your copy your iTunes library over from your Windows box, you should be all set. You can also wirelessly sync/backup your devices to your...

Watch Microsoft's Xbox One E3 press conference

I still have 3 white consoles. Two of them are arcade models. I don't plan on any new 360 console purchases, unless one of them dies before One is released. My main console has been having heat issues. Damn fans are always on. But, still going for now.

Mac OSX Lion recovery partition tip

Did the cloned backup have your recovery partition? My guess is no since it's hidden? I know Timemachine doesn't back it up, which is why I went with the clean install route. Either way, much better than I remember doing a windows recover many yrs ago.
