End of the Oasis? Goodbye to the Amazon Kindle Oasis Disappointing if true. Was really hoping for a USB-C update and better battery. Perhaps they will produce a version of the Paperwhite with page turn buttons. Have no idea how many Kindles are being sold these days.

I turned off Sidewalk when they first introduced it. Just checked and it is still off. Hasn't been much discussion of that feature lately.

I meant another Echo. Pretty sure it would have to be Bluetooth.

Perhaps it gets the initial stuff from another device on your network? Without a cellular chip I don't see anyway else.

Pretty sure you have the option at purchase to say it is not going to your house. Kindle is the same. Amazon doesn't pre-configure the device, when you power it on it goes to Amazon's servers, they know it is your device and the configuration stuff is downloaded for you.

Now instead of a download for pchealthcheck it says 'coming soon'. :oldlaugh Doubtful I would ever consider upgrading either of my machines.

Work from home might change the mix a bit. Not sure if most people working from home use their personal equipment or employer provided.

Tomorrow is supposed to the big day. I will check to make sure Sidewalk remains disabled.

I did turn mine off. Given what Scott posted above I do intend to pay attention to what is done with Sidewalk. Perhaps there will be some benefits we are not aware of yet.

Dang, just noticed that my 2013 iMac won't install Big Sur. :( Hadn't planned on replacing this yet.

Bought a new Air earlier this year not knowing these were on the way. Won't need a replacement for a while. Possibly when the next iMac comes out I will replace my 2013 model.

If I were going to do mesh I would want to use a wired connection between the nodes. I'm not up on current models but not all support that.
