    If you're going to use a second monitor all the time you don't need VNC. However that would keep you from carrying a monitor to the TV if you have problems in the future. Did you try it with Windows 7?

    HP Smartmedia Server/ Windows Home Server

    I have one at home. I really just use it for file storage, backups, and file restores. I have the home server version of my movies on it, but I really just use it for file management. It's awfully nice when you mess something up to just restore the entire pc back to a previous image.
