If you have two HDtv's, you're screwed with E*

To our pleasant suprise, the 811 outputs HD via component AND DVI at the same time. For us, it was a simple change-out of the Voom box for the 811. Two RF remotes and we're good to go as we were before. Component can run a pretty good distance via RG56 coax. Our single HD box feeds two rooms...

HD ONLY Package Pricing at Dish Network..

Sean -- Nice post. I was going to do this the other night while hanging at the "Last Hours of Voom Chat". Now if we could get just the premium HD movie channels too, I would drop the rest lickity split. Sure miss the low cost of Va-Voom compared to what we are paying now for the...

Does Chuck have any influence on Charlie?

It would be nice if Chuck could influence Charlie with the premise of more than just Voom exclusives on Dish Network. If Dish were to make TMC-HD, Max-HD and/or Eastern feeds of the HD premiums available on 61.5, I would pay for it. No question. Sure, many will flame me for the thought of...

Thank You letters to VOOM and Charles Dolan

Mr D-- Thanks for providing the best priced, best guide and best selection of HD. It has been a fantastic year. We are already watching Voom on Dish this am. More HD movie channels would be nice. Please continue to negotiate deals for more movies. That is what we would like to see. Cheers,

    Screw cablevision and dish

Buy your own equipment, activate with HD pack for $10, Voom pack for $5 and $5 surcharge for not having a Top60 or better package. Total cost for programming is $20/mo. Cost for an 811 on eBay is $175-$190 shipped for new in-box. Easy cheesy and cheap.

$100 for New Dish to get 10 Voom channels? No way!

We are existing customers to Echostar, we had the 6000 years ago with an Echostar dish pointed towards the 61.5 bird. Since they have this on record, why would we need to pay for installation of a dish that is already on the side of my house? Can someone confirm the need to switch out lnbs...

What New Channels Are Mandatory for You/Your Family?

We're pretty much happy with the current programming. More HD would be better for us. Friends who have not made the switch seem focused on RSN's.

***** Big Big Changes for HD Cinema*****ALL MOVIES in OAR all the time

Anyone note OAR on Omega Man? I watched it the other night. Looked good but when the movie starts you will see 2.35:1 during the credits (small black bars above and below on my 16x9 screen) then aspect ratio moves to 1.85:1 (fills my 16x9 screen). Does this mean they did not transfer in OAR...

HomeTheatherMagazine: Even more HDTV from VOOM

Vurbano-- No, I agree with jnardone that the press release is misleading. Why announce that channels have been added if we can't actually view them?

    Anyone looking at Rainbow2 yet?

My "tech savy" comment did sound a little weird didn't it? My fear with this thread is someone might try adjusting their dish then call Voom and say, "well some guy on the forum said to.." sort of thing. I would be bummed out if something like that happened. Apologies for my verbiage and...

    Anyone looking at Rainbow2 yet?

I created this thread to tap into minds of the tech savy. If your not familiar with adding satellite antenna's, dialing in the sat, splitters or just plain testing then this thread may not be for you. I plan to dial in Rainbow2 within the next few days to see what's on there. I'm interested...

Anyone looking at Rainbow2 yet? Is it Live? I'm interested to see how many channels are on the sat. I've got a spare dish. Maybe it's time to clamp it to the deck rail and dial in the signal?

    VOOM adds 5 new channels!

Impatient has a pretty smart idea there. Anyone care to comment on flaws in his wisdom? I don't see any. Voom needs to make that happen.
