I think this poll should have closed when 6.10 was pushed. This was a significant update and may have changed a lot of opinions. I think a new poll would be more accurate a few days from now when the implications of 6.10 set in.

I agree ... and THAT's why VOOM should be concentrating on PQ - Not much incentive to stay with VOOM if we can get a lot of the same content with noticeably better PQ somewhere else...and most people do not want to have more than one provider. It currently takes 3 to satisfy me but I'd love to...

IMHO, if the PQ is not pristine ... then nothing else matters much. I got VOOM for more "HD" - not substandard PQ HD :(

My VOOM blacked out today because of rain fade. I called VOOM to report it, thought the CSR would tell me I needed to have my dish peaked but he said "you may need some more LNB's or a larger dish" so he set up a service call.... Aren't separate LNB's for separate satellites?

The Sony KV-36XBR800 is a 4:3 set right? So when you're watching HD in 16:9 mode it is now like watching a 32" set - so it may be difficult to tell a lot of difference in HD vs SD. BTW, here is good site to compare TV sizes: http://www.cavecreations.com/tv2.cgi

This is good advice but make sure your new receiver is rated to pass the HD signal easily. Many do not.

I have 4 sources and I don't have this problem. I use a MX700 universal type remote and it works perfectly and easliy. I didn't want ANOTHER remote to deal with. With the MX700 I've replaced 8 remotes. It was very easy to set up macros to easily change everything with 1 button push. Again...

I use the Zektor HDS4: http://zektor.com/hds4/index.htm Do a search on this in the AVS forum and you'll see although a bit pricey (I paid $300) it is highly thought of as it easily handles the bandwith necessary for an HD picture without artifacts.

Well I've got Insight cable, Direct TV and VOOM now which will probably change when the VOOM DVR comes out. I've got 2 Moto 6208's with Insight so it's hard to give up a provider with HD-DVR's right now. And of course, NFL Sunday ticket with Direct TV. Why not have it all? :D

INHD 1 & 2 were listed in the original VOOM brochure that I got from Sears. There was a recent post in the Yahoo group list from Wilt with VOOM that indicated that VOOM still intended to have the channels listed in the original brochure but it was a matter of pending negotiations.

No base subscription fee. My 1 year commitment was up. My D* account is considered "suspended" - it will reactivate when NFL Sunday Ticket starts up. So NFL Sunday ticket IS available a la carte from D*.
