Charlie really is looking at using the old Voom Receivers!!!

In Dish'es Charlie Chat from 5/26/05, they talked about flashing the voom receivers for Dish, and were looking into it, since there are > 150k recievers set for voom. Now if they could have just done that a month ago for all us voomers That wanted to keep viewing!! I really hope they do...

FYI, The old voom box CAN receive E*!

Is the cam not the card itself?? At least in the case of NV, With a DVB decoder and a valid card I assumed that would get dish (With their blessing of course). As far as the title, it may turn out not to be a fact - I was only trying to start a dialog, if it turns out to be untrue then the...

    What about us Charter Members!

Glad to hear CVS is still out there for us? By jnardone: "Cablevision will eventually make good on their agreement (within two to three weeks according to the CSR's)" If this is true then I feel better already, However everyone that is in this boat with me should let your voice be heard in...

    What about us Charter Members!

Voom Did not go out of business! Cablevision never separated VOOM from their business, they simply pulled the plug and ya did an f-u to us charter members, It is time to re-read the terms of agreement and get a lawyer involved, by numbers even a few hundred of us can make it happen, perhaps...

    What about us Charter Members!

I have to say that I am a little (well alot) pived over this switch over thing, us charter members layed out a grand or more up front and with out receiving even two years service I have figured out I have payed an average of $120/mo and did not even have the vava package. OTA and Voom Receivers

As it stands, EPG (Electronic Program Guide) will not work with no sat signal. Very limited EPG is on the OTA signal anyway, most OTA box's are tied to sat signals for EPG so I would not expect anything there. I have now left the sat unplugged since I started this thread (about a week) and...

    OTA and Voom Receivers

This thread went south (and north), Mod, Please Move the diplexer part to another thread and also the contest, give them new threads. I meant for my thread to continue only IF the behaver of the receivers change or is different then my findings. Thanks! GG

    OTA and Voom Receivers

Tech stuff first, As it stands right now you can unplug the sat input and unplug the receiver and when repowered the OTA still works with no guide info. I can't say for sure if there is a kill date embeded in the system if no sat sig is received in a certain amount of time, but for now...

JL, see this link on Rainbow I http://www.skyrocket.de/space/doc_sdat/rainbow-1.htm It has capability to supply all 36 transponders if needed, how be it not all @ double wattage. Right now it's loafing up there sharing it's dutys with E* bird. On the short term E* wants it for backup...

Letter from Inverstors to Chuck: (Voom/Echostar merge?)

Rainbow I has more to offer then just VOOM! Let me bring up a technical point of the rainbow I satellite, Voom only uses 14 or so of the 32 Freq. assignments allowed for the 62.5 slot. There is like 40 TWT tubes on board, enough to supply all of voom and a dozen or so more transponders (Vooms...

A open letter to NBC regarding their coverage of the 2004 Athens Olympics in HD

This is a open letter to NBC regarding their coverage of the 2004 Athens Olympics in HD. While I applaud the 24 hour coverage in HDTV I am surprised at the lack of consideration of your HD viewers by denying us real-time and primetime coverage. The decision to separate your HD (DTV)...
