I quit before the very end, but I had disconnected the stb's before I called Voom to cancel....so they never hit my boxes.....I tried one on 3rd tv just for local digital channels and IT WORKS SO FAR! Sure hope there isn't a time bomb in it! Also hope they abandon them.....

I agree about Voom and it having been a great deal....it's sad to read about these Dish guys trying to defend their sat. company when I complain......they'll never know what we had....so they can't understand us being so unhappy!

OTA Working for Now I signed on with Dish 2 weeks ago and disconnected the voom boxes. I tried one on them today on a non satilite tv....just has ota channels on it and all the old ota channels worked OK. Does anyone know that if these boxes aren't hooked up to a dish to receive a kill...

$110 Too Much I agree that the $100 is too much, they should be offering this in their HD pack as far as I'm concerned. I have one of those super dishes....they said I'd still need another dish.....I guess that superdish isn't so super after all.

Joined Dish I went with Dish, mainly because I had no experience with Sats. except Voom. I heard bad things about both Dish and Dtv....but Dish wanted the least up front money for me. There HD is OK I guess....I got the Everything pack with all the premium channels. I don't like their...

?? So if I disconnected the boxes from the phone and sat. before I called and canceled....I wonder if they'll still work for OTA? Only time will tell I guess, they may pick them up.

Taking Equipment Well if they take my boxes, they can take it all....dish and everything! They won't get the boxes without removing the dish!

Reboot I checked and I'm not getting any of the new channels mentioned.....is a reboot needed?

2 tv's I live just outside New Orleans, La......I got the 7.34 update on one tv weeks ago.....but I've been waiting for the update on my 2nd box and it never was received......what gives? Are they still sending it? What about the super-dma....is it still going out?

So are we going to look like fools if we plan a superbowl party and invite friends and family over to watch the game in HD and it ends up that we have to cancel the party before the game because our Sat. provider pulls the plug! Can't VOOM let us know something.....because not knowing sucks...

What About? What about the boxes, dishes, and antennas? I wonder if they will abandon all the equipment and if so will we still be able to receive local HD channels through it? Or will they kill the box on the way out the door? :mad: I hope we get news soon as to what's really...

ID Problems This appears from the post that this feature works for some, some it doesn't, and some it doesn't work correctly......why can't Voom get this right? It's a feature that's been around for years! Maybe they can ask Ma Bell ?

Must I have a pin installed for the caller id to work? If so where is that? I enabled the caller id in the settings, then rebooted the box, then called home and I got nothing....it does have a phone line, but I also tried to reort back feature and was unable to be successful there also. Any ideas?

Well That Su_ks! Well they keep doing more and more to make people look at other service companies such as D. They reduce it $5 then go up $10! Their just like the state....(I'm civil service) everytime we get a raise, they increase our health ins. and take it right back!

La. got it I live in Louisiana....and I noticed my bill was smaller today....it was the tax difference....hope this doesn't mean VOOM will go up on their prices after the 1st of the year :rolleyes:

2005 Yeah I think we're all going to be in for a surprise at the end of the year! A BAD surprise! The pricing I have now $85 per month is all I can afford....I know that much! I agree also that we were supposed to get all channels added to VaVaVoom until 2005..... I guess they forgot...

New Prices Too Much! I just heard about this.....I too would never try Voom for the prices their offering......I did it because of the $0 price down and free install.....otherwise I'd be with DTV. After the end of the year if my prices go up....I'm afraid I'll have to look at DTV even if...

I have joined the VOOM newsletter more times than I have fingers and toes over months! I have never received a news letter to this date. Can anyone with Voom correct this? Maybe Wilt? I've asked reps at VOOM, their no help....they say sign up again. Is there a way to get an email address...

No One Calls! Same here, I called for help with my bill....got the message....and no one ever calls.......called back a few days later and got a real person! This isn't a good policy...I believe I'd rather stay on hold A LITTLE LONGER....we should at least "HAVE THAT OPTION!" :mad:

I would like It MY Way I would like to have a box that is able to convert it to what ever aspect I choose......the OTA signals have bars on each side regardless of any settings on my box.....and what I hate is that the OTA HD signals that I receive on my standard 36" sony 4:3 tv can't be...

I got news that the new OTA scanning ability might be implemented in mid-May...I sure hope it's soon! I sure hope they address some of the bugs too! "Scanning is in the next release which, at the moment, is looking like mid-May. Wilt" :shocked

Where can I look to find out what OTA channels are available in my area and whether or not they are broadcasting yet? If not when they might be broadcasting? Any word yet on Voom's new scanning abilities for ota channels or are they still adding channels into the pg by hand?

No News From Voom Why we can't get any news from VOOM? I had to come accross this thread to find out I had ESPN....5 channels no less! Is it so hard for them to send a mass email to customers? That's one problem I have with VOOM! :shocked
