Voom to Dish subs, check your statement

I was looking at my Dish statement the other day and noticed that they were charging me 31.99 instead of 19.99 for the first 2 months. I sent an email, but they said "no, you are just being charged 19.99". That was incorrect, so I called and the CSR kept telling me that I signed up for the...

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

Had my install done today. After the installer left, I called and added the Voom package. So, it looks like that plan worked to get Voom without the $100 2nd dish charge. Even if my locals weren't on 61.5, I think the installer would have pointed my second/local dish in that direction for me...

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

I wondered about that, but I believe Sean and DarrellP added them and they were current customers.

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

That sounds like the same deal I got when I placed my order on Sunday. I didn't add the Voom channels when I placed the order as I couldn't get them to waive the $100 fee. So, I just made sure I got the 2nd dish for the locals and there was no charge there. As soon as it is installed...

$100 charge for second dish and locals

I've had the same "fun" with the $100 fee. I may have found a way to get around it, but I won't know for for sure until it is installed. I called to order the "Voom special" and told them I shouldn't have to pay the $100 since I would need the 61.5 dish for my locals. He said I would get it...

Sign a contract, save some $$$

My point was primarily for anyone who paid new programming fees, but old stb rental rates. But, even someone with old fees can save a little. You save $4.50/box and the $5 mirror fee goes away. Your programming goes up $10, so the net is you save $4 a month. :)

Sign a contract, save some $$$

I upgraded to the VaVaVoom package a few weeks ago which bumped me up to the new rates. I callled Voom a couple of times to see if I could put back on the old rates, but I never had any luck. So, tonight I called and said that since I am paying the programming rates of new customers, I'd like...

    The End of VOOM?

Well, call me Kookooo! Like I said a few posts ago, I figured since I hadn't seen any of the premium channels in the past, I might as well get it and enjoy for a few days/weeks. So, I just called and asked if I could get the old price since I was on the $39.90 basic package, but the CSR...

    The End of VOOM?

I'm tempted to do the same thing. Not because I think it will make a difference in the future of Voom, but because I haven't seen any of the premium HD channels. I figure that way I'll get the most out of my last few days/weeks of Voom. I might as well go out with a bang. :D

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

Just in case they do "turn off the lights" at the end of January, will the Voom box still work with the OTA channels? I need to make sure I'll be able to watch the Super Bowl in HD. :D

FoxHD NFL Games, HD-Lite over OTA?

I have been impressed with Fox in HD. Last weekend, I had to watch my Falcon's in CBS SD, and I was envious when I switched to the Patriot's game on Fox.
