so i just called voom to describe my problem, and instantly the guy said it sounds like a problem with my diplexor. Thinks its a problem with the second port, and thats why it only happens when plugged into the second box. Does this sound right?

you rock, that was it. The boxes must not have come with 7.37, then the installer did a scan, and then the box was upgraded to 7.37 i rescaned the local channels, and now channel 4 comes in without issues. Thanks!

damn that shocks me that no one else has this problem. the installer made it sound like everyone in los angeles has this problem. He mentioned it to me before i had it, and i mentioned that it worked fine for me, and he thought that was wierd. Then i got it with the second reciever.
