    Getting power to OTA antenna

Hoorrrray! This cheapo ($9.99 ) PS works like a charm! http://www.smarthome.com/images/7747big.jpg http://www.smarthome.com/7749.html I am getting more than 98% on all channels. Couple of them I never picked before with the Voom Box. Thanks to all of you for answering. So, for...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Thanks for the test, I have ordered a 18 VDC PS, will try with that. Still don't understand how an AMP could work with Input AC AND Input DC depending on different situation  :what

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Diplexer /Combiner Install (for so many people including myself) ________________ Its working with DC power (from Voom STB) Non-Diplexer / Combiner Install (for 'Impatient' above and may be a few others) ____________________ Its working with AC power (PS 9370 ) According to Voom CSR...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Thanks Tell me one thing, the Antenna needs AC or DC? You said 18 VAC OUT. That means 9370 does supply AC (and not DC). The Voom box supplies DC ( I have verified it with multitester). So, how is it working now with the Voom Box? Does it mean that with the diplexer/combiner it needs DC and...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Radioshack does not have a 12 VDC power injector. Where else can I buy one? Would this work? http://www.smarthome.com/images/7747big.jpg http://www.smarthome.com/7749.html http://www.mpja.com/directview.asp?product=4501+TV (the power supply part only)

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Ilya, I tried with a a multitester. No DC volt at all. I call the company where I bought it from (weisd.com). Guess what, they say, the PS-9370 is a AC power supply and not a DC one. I have measured the output and yes, it is a AC power supply. The guy offers to call Winegard and call me back...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Nope, exact same problem - no signal at all. The Radioshack Diplexer does not pass voltage on the antenna side. I think I have to get hold of a multitester. The PS must be bad. All I need to get from the 'working' to not working is disconnect the sat able from Voom Box and connect it to the...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Sorry, My Bad. Its a typo. Its marked 'to preamp' and 'to TV' (and not to antenna). The issue remains though ..

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Thanks Ilya. Just to double check 1. The coax from the roof diplexer is connected to the radioshack diplexer down below (say, D). 2. The 'sat output' of D (marked with DC pass) is connected to the PS 9370 terminal marked with "to Pre-amp" 3. The other end (marked with "To Antenna") of PS...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

Unfortunately I don't. I just bought the PS off of internet. Anyway, somehow I think you are correct when you say "The only question is whether this power supply is powerfull enough to power the LNB and the antenna at the same time". So, if I can climb up there on the roof, all I would need to...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

amrko, if you have the powered sensar II antenna and have diplexer install, it would not work, at least in my case it does not. As the antenna needs power and the sat feed from the diplexer (at the receiver side) provides the power. In my case I am just trying to provide an alternate source of...

    Getting power to OTA antenna

I am trying to use OTA in my HTPC without the voom box using the voom Sensar II antenna. I have a diplexer install. I cannot get up the roof to disconnect the diplexer or the dish so I bought a Radioshack diplexer to be used at the receiver end (call it X). I took off the moto diplexer which...

OTA without Voom Box - Please somebody help!

I am trying to use OTA in my HTPC without the voom box using the voom Sensar II antenna. I have a diplexer install. OTA Question

The only reason I am leaving the dish in the mix it that my dish is on the roof where I cannot reach it to disconnect. I have another diplexer from Radioshack (passes dc on the satellite side), which I can use, right? In fact, can't I just connect the coax from dish/antenna to this Radioshack...

    OTA Question

OK, now I am confused too. 1. If I leave the diplexer at the receiver, how would I connect the antenna to HTPC? 2. Why are you guys advising on disconnecting the dish? 3. If I indeed go with my solution mentioned in my earlier post, would it work? (Remember, i am not trying to use the...

    OTA Question

I am in the same situation as the OP. This is what I plan to do. 1. Take out the diplexer at the receiver end (the dish end would still be connected). 2. Buy a Winegard 9370 Power supply and connect the cable to it. 3. Connect the other end of the cable to my HTPC's OTA receiver...

    OTA Amplifier Question

If I disconnect the Voom Box and use an external OTA tuner, there would be nothing to power the Winegard Sensar II antenna. What kind of power inserter I need to use (replacing the Voom Box). Can anybody provide a link?

Mine was connected that way (with Verizon supplied DSL filters) but it still locked up. Of course, the other users should still try them and see whether it works. Good Luck!
