The test card is especially useful when it identifies the satellite and transponder. It helps verify you're on the correct bird when setting up a new system.

Bob I concur with many of the comments posted here, if you can see 125W lots of PBS channels there although that may be too far west from Quebec. I watch the NBC and NHK feeds on 103W, and the various News feeds. I can't see east of 72W so can't comment on programming the other folks...

If I may add to Brian's comments, the reason the attenuation off the sides of the dish is desirable is to minimize reception of adjacent satellites. This causes interference. The greater the attenuation, the less likely you will have interference issues.

I just started using a Mini HD SE and am quite happy with it. It replaced an A3 which worked but I found to be glitchy. I would recommend getting one before they're gone. Regards, Akan
