Best deal on a decent 1.2 meter dish

I think it's time for me to invest in a bigger dish. My used commercial dish search (old gas stations etc) for the last couple of years has been a dud. Does Patriot still make them? Or is GeosatPRO the only option these days?

Hi Mike, I really enjoyed your May 2023 article on C-Band Free-to-Air Satellite. Are there any plans to do a Ku-Band version? -Thanks.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but... The Spectrum Monitor has a satellite section. I have been a subscriber since they rolled out the digital magazine in 2014. It's something like Bob Grove's Monitoring Times magazine used to be. In fact I believe that some of the authors came...

    RG-6 connectors

Hi Al, I use a female to female connector to get a little "leverage" if you will. Sometimes I place the barrel connector in a socket. 7/16's if I recall correctly. This method saves your hands a bit.

PBS Channels lost on AMC 21

I gave up on motors years ago in favor of individual fixed dishes. Much easier to set up in my opinion. That being said, If your dish and motor are aligned properly finding and scanning additional satellites is simple. You can do it all from the comfort of your couch using your receivers remote...

Current receivers that can decode AAC audio

Thanks Casey and Michael I really appreciate it. I'm just baffled by the fact that they omit these details in the specs. I mean, that's what they are there for right? Anyway, thanks again. :thumbup

Finding what Satellite I have the Dish presently

Hi Keith, Has this been officially announced by PBS or is this rumor mill stuff? I ask because I've enjoyed the PBS mux on 125W for many years. I'd hate to see it go away. My wife and I are very much into the Sunday evening programming like Masterpiece. I do have PBS OTA but I like the...

Does anyone know if there is a currently available satellite receiver in the US that can decode AAC audio? I have an audio project I'd like to pursue. Did something change with AMC21/125W?

Michael. If I'm not mistaken you are using a 1.2 meter dish. Those of us using .9 meter dishes have had somewhat marginal signal on 125W for a while. Even on my fixed ku system everything has to be perfect for me to get a lock.

    Did something change with AMC21/125W?

I gave up on the Montana transponder when they switched to DVB-S2 a few years ago. I'm cool with having the main E and W feeds. It's pretty high maintenance though because of high winds blowing my dish off azimuth all the time. It doesn't seem to take much.
