    Intelsat 18 180.0E Ku

I"ve played this game :) Yes you can definitely do it from the west coast if you are high enough to have LOS. https://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threads/how-far-west-can-you-go.363436/ I've wanted to go back and try it again with the small dish although its definitely beyond the arc of my...

Best deal on a decent 1.2 meter dish

A picture of the rear mount is shown in the product manual available for download on the vsat site. I enjoy a good DIY project but this doesn't look particularly HH motor friendly.

Will that mount on back function with an HH motor?

LOST CHANNELS AT EUTELSAT 113 AND 117W:

IIRC there are a handful of FTA channels on 117 between 3700-3800MHz which I of course lost when 5G went live in my area. Its a moot point now that I'm using Titanium Satellite C238 although I don't recall any issues with losing channels above 3800MHz

    5G Network interference:

As I said, I'm always skeptical. I skipped the DIY 5G solutions and went right to new LNB with 5G filter. No regrets.

    5G Network interference:

I can't find the picture but I've read few people claim that adding an extension to the outer rim of the scalar reduced 5G interference. In the 2 pictures that I recall seeing, one person attached ~ 1" wide hose clamp around the outer rim of the scalar and another person used what looked like a...

    FTA meter with USALS support?

Still using my old First Strike FS-1 meter as it works but after de-rusting and repainting my Ku dish, I was considering an upgrade. Are there any meters capable of moving an HH motor?

    WSI 39" Ku dish mount?

Thats it. I thought for a moment I had a 36" but just ran out and measured 39" :eek Thank you!

    WSI 39" Ku dish mount?

Cleaned up and sprayed my old 39" WSI Ku dish which turned out great but had a question before reassembly as I didn't take any pictures. The rear mount that attaches to the dish isn't perfectly symmetric so is there an "up" or "down side for attaching to reflector? There is small metal lip...

    Advanced USALS dish pointing

Thanks for the replies. IIRC, my current HH motor arc is ~130 degrees. Do they make HH motors with a 150 or 160 degree arc?

    Advanced USALS dish pointing

I've been trying to figure this one out in my head but not sure if its possible but here goes. I have line of site from 166E - 55W. The outer limits are beyond the range of an HH motor. Is there a way to setup an HH motor so that the arc is somehow shifted E or W either by rotating the dish...

    Ku on big dish?

My initial attempt to add sidecar over weekend had mixed results although I'm hoping round 2 will have better success. A few questions: 1. Am I correct that the focal length for the Ku LNBF should be ~same as the C-band? 2. Should the Ku LNBF be slightly angled to point at the center of...

    Ku on big dish?

My HH motor recently failed and while I have a replacement, just wondering about possibility of adding a Ku LNB to my 10ft KTI dish? Long ago I tried a combo C/Ku LNB and wasn't happy with the Ku performance but just wondering if a separate Ku LNB added next to the scalar might be sufficient?

    5G Network interference:

Not a lot of details provided regarding which channels on 113W you are now unable to receive however if its any of the feeds below 3800MHz, its unlikely you will be receiving those anymore. For feeds above 3800Mhz, a new LNB with 5G filter may make a big difference.

    West coast dealer recommendations?

If you figure out how to integrate OS MIO 4k or other Linux receivers into Channels DVR, either directly installed on DVB receiver or using DVB receiver as a source, please share the details as I'd love to hear what you working on.

    2022 FTA Receivers???

I hope I'm wrong but I'd be surprised if there are many new FTA receivers released in the first half of 2022 and maybe not much the entire year related to supply chain issues.

Receiving programs from 30 W = Hispasat after reflection from 2 flat mirrors.

Whatever you are doing it looks like fun but I'm still trying to understand the purpose or advantage of double mirrors vs. a single dish?

More photos of this old C Band dish and the parts I need to update.

A couple of other thoughts. If you do decide to dive in, take a lot of pictures as it will make re-assembly much easier knowing where everything went. Also try and document which bolts go where. Its also highly likely the bolts required are structural grade so don't count on shopping at Home...

More photos of this old C Band dish and the parts I need to update.

Agree with prior comments. Looks like a fun but lengthy project which will definitely require crane or some sort of tractor to lift off reflector. Most of mount parts can be soaked to remove rust and then sanded, primed and painted. Evaporust is your friend and you will need gallons. Powder...
