    5G Network interference:

If you are, indeed having issues because of the 5G, (first I've heard of it actually from a non-broadcaster) you're one of the satellite users in the country that will need a filter which may or may not help, depending on strength of (5g) signal. As a broadcaster, we had the option to file with...

    Commercial Dish on a Pole

When I've done similar, the main thing I've learned and practiced is to explain politely that it really has no use except for experimenters, and scrappers and I'd rather not see it scrapped. Once in a while, you'll find someone who thinks they're worth HUGE bucks, but most of the time in...

If county (or local legislative records) are online, you''ll get enough info to start digging. Go for it! Tax records are usually available and have company or owner information in many cases. You're on the right track.

Better now than in winter! Motor Drive nuts!

I forgot to mention or "add" that today, the step-up pulse voltage device smoked after overheating and probably would have burned the station down had I not been here. I'd bypassed the coax loop through the positioner, and the power was "off" to the Vbox, but the custom box which stepped up our...

Better now than in winter! Motor Drive nuts!

Plans for one, maybe two more Birdviews before winter. Just hooked up the 6th dish from the left today for 87 W kU to add LPB to the selections, since moving my main dish is not going to happen for awhile. Will peak the kU tomorrow, not sure how strong LPB is on the average, but it seems to lock...

Better now than in winter! Motor Drive nuts!

Last night we had strong storms in our area, which never bother my equipment. Either last night was the exception, or my positioner for the one actively motorized Birdview lost it's marbles. The picture you see was kind of interesting. My RING security camera woke me during a strong 'bout of...

As a terrestrial broadcaster, I don't see anybody in our business winning here. ....stay tuned....Maybe more later....as more articles are published and more facts and input are thrown in the mix.

I agree to the accountability of the service for which we pay. If, Verizon, for instance, wants to use this "new" band stolen from us, (or not stolen from us) it should, at least, be accountable in some way for service quality to it's intended area. I recently wrote Verizon. Recently being...

    C Band Dish Registration

No worries, but I maintain....hobbyists should not spend the money. There IS NO guarantee paying for registration will do a thing for you. We're relying on delivery of CBS by C-band at my radio station as I've said, and I'm not paying the "ransom". It's not right and it's overpriced. If you...

No, it just sounds like CRAP. They live in the clouds, these executive-engineer types. Sure! Move my dish for the radio station. See how well that works. No fiber here! Our TOWN only has it in about 5 locations, all of which are big corporate things like our hospital and the box stores. What a...

Agreed on the statement above, I used TI as a parallel situation, as back in the 1980's we had customers in Jackson County MI that got T-I badly and it nearly wiped some channels. Similar example, perhaps not as good as thought. From the people who bring us CBS....the deadline now...

Yes. The signal from the terrestrial tower, if in the path/direction from multiple dishes would be a problem to more than one C-band dish. Not sure how big an area, it would most likely depend on how long the path of the terrestrial signal. The issue is the strength of the terrestrial signal...

    C Band Dish Registration

Not a far-off perception, Considering the FCC controls the licensing of the applications for people who would interfere. There is global CONCERN because this band is used for navigation and other purposes beyond radio and television communications. There may be a perceived OBLIGATION, but...

    C Band Dish Registration

From an industry standpoint of the broadcaster, IF this article is really tracking the pulse of this, and..given the history of big business "winning" lately in getting what they want, I'm pretty much guessing the outcome. There were some heavy hitters on the "leave it alone" side during first...

To me, as a broadcaster, and likely to you as satelliteguys.us member, This article is not good news. C Band Dish Registration

That's how I felt about the fee for registering our radio station's dish(es). Even at around $500 to the FCC and $500 to the engineers to do it, we'd have been paying the very same people who hold the cards as to whether or not the situation will exist where we NEED the registration, and ..they...
