    What Happened to Everybody?

5g pretty much killed my C-band. And most of what I put all these dishes up for has gone to fiber delivery (Sports) or encrypted, so all my dishes are essentially useless. I don't watch news, I don't watch networks. Ironic thing is I now have ALL the tools I need to build a mount from...

    FTA Stuff....I am reducing inventory...

Okay everything is posted. As always I am easy to work with, make an offer and we will talk. I didnt realize how much stuff I have. If any of y'all need or want dishes and live within driving distance of New Orleans I have some 1m Primestars and a couple 84e Ovals, and for a pittance I will...

    FTA Stuff....I am reducing inventory...

Hope this is allowed...if not I apologize. Glad to see old faces still here.....I am in the process of reducing my toybox, so I wanted to let my Brothers in here know first...I will be posting some stuff in the classifieds that I don't use anymore. I don't even know what all I have but its a...

    Some old satellite brochures

I have got a collection of about 60 STV Magazines from 1982ish up, when I was a kid I used to subscribe. Like a time capsule to the beginning of the industry.

The old days when satellite C-band was not legal yet 1984

I am currently sitting next to a box filled with old STV magazines from the 80's. When my Mom passed I found them in her attic. Apparently I keep EVERYTHING. LOL... I look at them with fondness...man what we had back then....

Just received a Channel Master 84E with dual LNB holder.

I am pretty sure those were for two Primestar satellites, I don't think the distance is right for any satellites we look at. I have three or four of the 84E dishes and I just made a bracket out of flatbar steel I had laying around. ALL of the plastic hardware on those dishes gets brittle after...

Does anybody have info on this dish?

That's PROBABLY a 1m Primestar dish. I have four of them. The LNB gives it away. Its a keeper, grab it. Hard to motorize, but it can be done with enough backyard engineering or a big enough motor. Or both.

    I just realized.....

I went ahead and got an ASC1...it should be here tomorrow...thanks y'all.

    I just realized.....

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on an ASC 1...I've never known Brian to sell anything that wasn't good... And Gunman, I SMOKED and old vbox I had lying around..hooked it up, pressed the button....therewith it emitted the magic smoke....LOL...I'll be damned if I am giving someone a hunnert...

In Memorium: Rich ( Anole) Steincross Has Passed Away. May He Rest in Peace

You know, y'all, I don't think he had any idea that so many people looked forward to hearing from him. As he slowly got away from the board, as we all do from time to time (me included, not much time anymore), I reminded him a lot that he had a lot of good thoughts and ideas that people needed...

In Memorium: Rich ( Anole) Steincross Has Passed Away. May He Rest in Peace

Rich was one of a kind, shared his knowledge with everyone, he liked to laugh. He delighted in the picture I sent him of my adventures. I do not know if he knew how bad off he was, or was trying to put a brave face on for us. I talked to him once a week on Saturdays.....I already miss those...

Does anybody know what happened to Anole??

Anole is fine. I speak with him weekly. Thanks for y'all's concerns.

That's because you are on 103w, Friend, not 125w. The feeds you listed are on 103w. :-)

    what are the pro's and con's of a ku / c-band combo lnbf ?

The focus points for Ku and C-band are different. You will either compromise Ku, or you will compromise C. I always installed mine to serve Ku over C-band, because Ku is harder to hit on the big dish, if you get it tweaked for Ku, generally C-band will be fine. That being said, I am glad I...

Prodelin 1.2 Dish to GS120 Motor ****Faiiled Experiment do not do this people*****

Some has asked me to post pics of a failed experiment I did trying to mate a GS120 to a Prodelin 1.2 commercial dish. This did NOT work as the dish and mount were still way too heavy to work. I made the frame out of 1X1 steel angle and the bracket is a foot mount from a directv slimline dish...

1.2m Andrew Commercial Ku Dish Help

I already set it up for him, Brian. All he has to do is hook the LNB's to the multiswitch I gave him, then run a line to his receiver. His setup is exactly like mine, and mine works fine with 13v. Thats a known good multiswitch, all he has to do is hook a coax to each LNB and run the two coaxes...

Is this a deal on quikcrete?

Spring 2012 I poured a 8X8 4 inches deep with a little chain wall, took me 55-80# sacks. Poured it with the Harbor Freight large mixer. I don't recommend it unless you have young backs to carry the bags, the mixer was great, it would mix two bags at a time almost as quickly as I could carry...

    Another new box FYI

Yep, same people as the X2. the X7 is the upgrade model, no idea how it would be better for what we use a receiver for. Its damned hard to beat 54.00 for a X2..I just bought my second one. :D

    Ku Satellite Dish Question

You wont motorize that dish without the STAB motor. The little motors just wont move that big dish, I tried it. Best option is converting a polar mount and use the gbox to move an actuator. But then you have to find a used polar mount..LOL....then do all the mods...you really need to come see...

    Ku Satellite Dish Question

To use that horn you need another LNB and a multiswitch. I can show ya what to do with it, I just cant do it in the next few days...too much work to be done. But I'll learn ya up.

GBox 3000 And Performance Pak Actuator

I have no idea, I seem to remember back in the day that they would run away, maybe they relied on the receiver to make sure they didn't run away. Remember those arms were made in a different time, for different equipment. I was there, what we do now everyday was science fiction in 1981...LOL

GBox 3000 And Performance Pak Actuator

The reed sensor is the thing that the two blue wires hook to. ( or is it blue and black? whatever) It mounts to the piece of plastic with a jamb nut. You can see the top nut in your picture. And the other ends of the wire hook to the terminal strip. Then the wires from your house hook to the...
