Same Old Song: Howard proves his worth

I have listened to maybe 15 minutes of terrestrial radio in the last two years since I've had Sirius... at least 15 minutes that were my option. There's one station locally the kids play at work.. and I swear they play the same 5 songs every hour... if I hear "My hump my hump my hump" one more...

Opie & Anthony Return to CBS RADIO

On Stern's show.. the commercials are like 3 or 4 spots, every hour. Half of them he talks through. Same with the Bubba and Farrell on 101.

He's Sirius: Stern to leave radio with a parade

Yep.. chalk it up to doing math at 3:30am. totally forgot about the ad revenue.

He's Sirius: Stern to leave radio with a parade

500 million / year = 3.12 million subscribers at 12.95/month. Considering some of the subscribers are secondary subs at $6... Stern would have to generate sone 4-5 million subs himself just to pay for himself. I can see that happen after 2-3 years. This is going to be interesting.

    Sirius' Curious Car Count

If you read on through the article, the CFO for Sirius said they count the cars because that's when the company in the contract pre-pays for the service. If I was an investor I'd be more worried about the (subscriber=money coming in) verses (subscriber=listener).

Sirius has their music available online for free as long as you subscribe to the service. Lately they have had their original talk shows available online as well. Jay Thomas, Radiochick, a couple of people on Talk Left, the Wise Guys on Wednesdays, Jim Breuer, and I think Phil's two shows as...

Looking to buy an In-Dash Sirius radio

I'm a little clueless about this... I'm looking to convert over from a PNP sirius unit to an in-dash unit. What models have a good display for showing sirius info?

    Sirius No Different

Well, there's such a variety of rock stations that you can easily flip from one to the other to another and still be in the same genre, but have totally different flavors of music. Every so often I'll channel surf and you'll have no idea what channel you'll end up on.

How much regular radio do you listen to vs. Satellite radio?

The local radio around here blows. The only decent FM station here is a rock station, and they play "Sweet Home Alabama" no lie, like 5 times a day. It's like a local thing and it drives me batty. The one time I tried to switch back out of boredoms sake.. i tuned in and sweet home alabama was...

    XM vs SIRIUS

Sirius has a nice range of talk channels. Not to mention the music channels you already knew about. Left, Right, and plenty of non-political talk on Talk Central. The Radio Chick Show is hilarious and Jay Thomas, a sarcastic B-Actor who has no problem interviewing people and making fun of them...

    Martha Stewart 24/7

who says cooking shows are only for women?!? As a foodie as well as a satelliteguy, I'm offended. Then again, Martha gives me the heebie geebies. I'll stick to Chef's Table on NPR-Now.

    Couple of Sirius Questions

I can answer the NFL question: Yes. I think it's 6 years including this season. They are broadcasting 2 versions of each game, so you can pick the home team announcer you prefer. And welcome to Satelliteguys!

    Stern to Sirius in 2006

I can verify.. I heard the announcment while on Talk Central a few hours ago. When Stern's contract runs out, in 2006, they're jumping ship to Sirius.

Yeah... I love that the FCC doesn't regulate it.. yet. He revoked all the Dude numbers and i would have been the first in Delaware to get one if he still had them.

    So whats more illegal?

What's the difference between, since it is analog to digital.. recording on an internal memory system in MP3 and me taking a dubbing wire output (which can be done with my Sirius JVC Homekit), running it through my sound card on my PC, and recording an MP3 that way? As you said, it's analog...

Review on the JVC Sirius PnP

I found out something today... in the menu, you can turn up the output level. I maxed mine out and it helped with the low volume and curbed a little bit of the static I hear on the talk channels.
