mabey the AZ is booting ip in PAL mode? and your TV is just displaying a black screen...

sounds to me like it didnt load the FW properly... weird, it should automatically see the FW if you name it "patch", put it on a usb stick, insert it in the AZ, and reboot the AZ...

what error? are you using firefox or internet explorer? the vid above plays fine for me with firefox...

put whatever FW you want to use on a usb stick and rename it "patch.bin" ... then insert usb stick in AZ and reboot the AZ. upon bootup it should see the FW and ask if you wanna upgrade to it...

I havnt had that happen before stanley... my AZ just goes to "no signal" if the feed cuts out... I have had it just randomly lockup, and need a reboot... but not because of a weak/ cutting out signal...

the video doesnt show any of the menus, or say anything about the features/ specs... its just someone flipping thru chanels...

in my experience... hardware accelleration "on" does nothing but mess up/ lock up the AZ... some have reported the only benefit is it will record some hi bitrate feeds better

ok cool, but turn "off" hardware acceleration... it will save you a headache...

if you have hardware accelleration turned "on".. turn it "off"... then reboot if that doesnt work a data reset will probably fix it, but that factory defaults your box, so you have to re-edit sats/ tps... unless you already have a backup list saved.

heya crackt... a wifi usb stick will work with an elite... :) not sure if it will work right away, or you have to install the drivers somehow...

power supplys failing was due to faulty components... it has nothing to do with the power usage of the receiver... the AZ prem/ultra external power supplys work just fine. its the prem plus that has the issues.

I have found the green led only comes on for some HD channels, not all... but the AZ doesnt really detect HD channels properly anyways... it thinks all dvb-s2 is HD. yes, the blind scan will find SD and HD channels if you have an AZ prem plus... they have a known problem with the power supplys...

rename the update file on the usb stick to "patch.bin" then the AZwill find it. just change whatever version of fw you wanna update to, to "patch.bin"...

I can record the HD and SD gdmx channels, and play them back no problem... hitachi internal harddrive kgd4295 firmware

I also put my harddrive into the az right out of the box, and let the az format it... its a 500 gig hitachi 7200 rpm

new maz works good for me :up loads much faster :) all the menus /screens look the same to me...

good post guys iceberg, what fw you using? i could never get my az to work properly with my 500 gig seagate usb external harddrive gave up and decided to put in an internal drive. went with a hitachi 500 gig 7200rpm. I remember reading somewhere az didnt like 1tb drives. I started with 5020...

both channels are working fine on my AZ premium(fw 5020)... pic quality isnt the greatest...

5020 has been the best FW yet... the website has never been that reliable... mabey they are just havin technical difficulties...

you cant... 5020 firmware(and some older ones) gives you the fq, sr, and pid's ... thats it... :(

ok, well I hooked up the 500 gig usb harddrive(its fat32 formatted), pressed record on the remote... lol.. of course it worked. I didnt change anything since last time I tried when it didnt work. it wont record all channels/ feeds though.. and it wont play back some either... but they will...
