[Viewsat] Viewsat VS2000 Ultra Terrestrial Scan

I don’t think the ultra can do a terrestrial scan, most likely, this feature was to use as a loop for viewing terrestrial tv on older coaxial television sets. The viewsat ultra was manufactured before atsc has been deployed.

OTHER Signal Strength Weaker at Night

In my experience, i find that lnbs with multiple ouputs tend to bring in less signal. Have you tried the geosatpro lnb’s?

    OTHER Newbie just starting out

What i recommend for starters is to go one step at a time. 1 fixed dish to begin with, then move on from there. If you like your initial setup and want to expand, then it’ll be worth it. Personally , i like 103w because it has a lot of feeds, nbc, nhk, cgtn and the music channels. 90cm is a good...

OTHER Question about using a Directv Satellite Dish with a FTA reciever.

If you’re looking to get diginets on fta you will need a c band dish 6-8 ft minimum. You might be able to use a slimline dish to get some ku band programming , you will have to change the lnb and make a bracket for it. You could be able to get some of the strongest signals on 103w and 97w.

[Viewsat] Trying to get started on fta cheap.

If you have a satfinder , it will help you greatly to look for c band signals on a 4 ft dish!

    OTHER New to FTA

I managed to get some diginets on 97w and 101w with a 4ft dish. You might be able to do the same with a titanium c band lnb.

[Viewsat] New to FTA with a viewsat VS2000 ultra

Yes a dvb-s2 will bring you up to date ! You can find different models for all kinds of prices. Some receivers have tuners that are more sensitive then others. I have a linkbox 9000i, when i hook up my sathero, it says 70% Q, the linkbox will display 98% Q. I don't find it very accurate or...

[Viewsat] New to FTA with a viewsat VS2000 ultra

I also have the same model! But the old star choice dish is the model that brings in the least signal. You may have to build a homemade bracket or buy one from ebay in order to mount the invacom lnb. You can try anything that is dvb-s non-hd mpeg 2 with your receiver. 97w has the most fta...

[Viewsat] New to FTA with a viewsat VS2000 ultra

The invacom is for circular and linear signals. Circular is for dbs (bell, dish and directv) linear is for fta. I had an invacom until i broke it trying to remove ice . You need to check the specs of the lnb on the sticker . I’m using this universal lnb right now and i get about 5% more...

[Viewsat] New to FTA with a viewsat VS2000 ultra

Exactly! What size of dish are you using? And what type of lnb? If you can post pictures that would be great! Try 11960v 22000 That's the strongest tp on my end. I get around 75-80% quality on a 36" dish.

[Viewsat] New to FTA with a viewsat VS2000 ultra

The viewsat will be able to pick up most channels on galaxy 19. You won't be able to receive any dvb s2 channels. It might be listed as galaxy 25 or intelsat americas 5 or 97 west. You can also add manually and/or rename a satellite in the list. Are you using a satmeter to find a signal ? That...

OTHER FTA Noob: Having Problems Finding Satellite

Those receivers are not so sensitive to signal tuning. I always use a satfinder (sathero 200) to tune the dish outside.

OTHER Seeking Support in Southeast Michigan

I also have a freesat v7hd. I recommend you use a satfinder , because this unit might need a reboot to get the signal to show up on the screen. I have a sathero 200, but the 100 model would do the trick. If not, try to find a freesat satfinder on ebay, they go for about 50$.
