BuddyTV Headed To Android This June, Your Device Is About To Tell You What To Watch And When

BuddyTV Headed to Android This June, Your Device is About to Tell You What to Watch and When - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog "It’s an app that has two major uses, but those uses are made up from a bunch of awesome little uses. First, it acts as a replacement to your lineup of TV...

Is google maps turn by turn better than your GPS?

I find it about the same typically. What I find disappointing is when you search for something specific; i.e. "Find XYZ Coffee Chain". I was on vacation, and we did this, and several times it navigated us to no where. I was hoping having Google data updated literally "daily" would be better...

    froyo for droid leaked

Loaded it up, works pretty good... though had to do a factory reset to get Marketplace to launch :( The USB tethering IS there but requires the $15 a/mos when you connect. -Mike

Motorola Droid 2.1 Update is HERE

I've been using the Google Maps wallpaper as it's great for easy checking on traffic before going home from work. Only complaint is it never seems to get a good GPS location no matter where I am and it randomly just stops working and reverts to my old wallpaper. Battery wise I haven't noticed...

Motorola Droid 2.1 Update is HERE

This rollout must be staggered longer than previous ones, my buddy still hasn't gotten his prompting to install it yet... He just got the phone a few weeks ago so definitely not 2.1. -Mike

Motorola Droid 2.1 Update is HERE

I couldn't wait... I tried... I know it's at most 48hrs depending where you are on the roll out list... but I still couldn't wait. :p Easy upgrade as was mentioned earlier, seems to work fine (though that first boot while the red eye is going is nerve racking!) I do like the Live Wall...

Engadget is reporting they are trying again: Verizon begins Android 2.1 update rollout for Motorola Droid -Mike

Motorola Droid's next update to be Android 2.1, includes multitouch browser

I wouldn't mind waiting if it meant more features. Yes 2.1 would be nice, but other than some new toys which I'd always like, I have no issues that would need an update. Still my favorite phone :) -Mike

First Looks: The Verizon Motorola Droid

I miss the old unlock screen already :( Other than that looks about the same, though maybe a bit snapier. The Apps screen doesn't open up all the way anymore for me (bleech). Also I can't remember if I saw this before or not, but there's an option greyed out under Text to Speech to add...

    Motorola Droid Update rolling out!

Nothing here yet :( Almost seems like it may be a small focus group (kind of like the satellite companies do new updates) as doesn't seem like many people have it yet. -Mike

First Looks: The Verizon Motorola Droid

Motorola Droid camera autofocus fixed in secrecy? That's what reports are saying... no update listed, but magically it works now ;) Gotta love it. I suspect this is going to be the bane of rooting as I'm sure as fast as people figure out how to enable it, VZW will push out a "fix". -Mike

First Looks: The Verizon Motorola Droid

Some good news on the camera front... Rumor on several forums is that Verizon quietly pushed a fix down for the focus issues last night. Seems the rumors may be true as the barcode app is working much faster for me now. Literally takes 1 - 3s now to scan one, vs 5 - 10s with moving in and out...

    Droid sales not too good

One of the issues I saw was Verizon's marketting campaign was awful. Most people (outside the techie community) had no clue at all what the commercials were about. When I'd show people at work the phone they would figure it out... "That's the thing about the jets shooting things?" :rolleyes...

First Looks: The Verizon Motorola Droid

The more I use the phone... the more I like it. I am driving my wife nuts as multiple times now I have said "This is the best phone I've ever owned..." :o Part of my love for it I think was due to the dated UI of the WM 6.1 phone I had on the last phone. The UI was definitely a lot more...

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

Ok, I've been running it for a day or so since I got it... here are my thoughts. - GET A SCREEN PROTECTOR :) I was foolish and figured it was Best Buy trying to oversell, but boy does the screen collect fingerprints like crazy. - GPS is really good! Even inside it seems to be able to lock...

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

I love the phone... very snappy and works great. Only complaint so far - how do you keep fingerprints off it ;) -Mike

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

Nice reports, keep 'em coming :) Hope to get mine in an hour or so... I'm hoping to find a decent case/cover for it... My XV6800 came with a sleeve that I use when it's in my pocket to keep it from getting scratched. -Mike

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

Were there actually any lines or just hype? I'm betting it will sell well, but the "lines" and "mobs" were probably an exagerration. -Mike

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

Anyone have one yet that can let us know what they are like? Picking mine up at lunch today; Best Buy actually called to make an appointment to pick it up in case there's any lines (also probably to try to sell some services too...) BTW looks like some other neat ones coming this or next...

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

Looks like no tethering support until sometime next year :( Being linux based, wonder if someone finds a way around that earlier... Just spoke to BB, the phones are in, but they can't give them out until Friday. On the bright side my phone is already set aside and waiting for me, so I don't...

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

I thought the Eris shipped with 1.6 of Android OS and not 2.0? I could be wrong on that. I think you hit the nail on the head about the limitations and blog sites posting whatever they find/hear. For example supposedly it's a "microUSB" connector on it, but most reviews say "MiniUSB"...

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

Wish I liked Apple more... just can't get past them. Maybe someday. :p Few more days then the phone is out. :) I was reading the links stuart628 sent which had a few known limitations on one of them. Really nothing with them that really bugs me which is a good thing. I did see the GSM...

    Verizon Droid....iPhone killer??

I hope they can sort you out on the plan so you can get it :) I did check and mine does show correctly on the BB Mobile site when I check for eligability. I'm still nervous about what they mean by "Reserved" at BB. Does that guarantee a phone on 11/6 or at "some point." I'm looking...
