Amazon shutting down it's FreeVee service?

Since my wife and I are both disabled, making store visits difficult, both Prime and Walmart+ are important to us. Last year Prime saved us over $800 in shipping fees plus the other included features. And we watch various programs on Freevee fairly often.

The only thing I ever saw beside the "Travel" pop-up was when I said yes, I'd get a pop-up reminding me to login from my home Internet service every 90 days I believe it was. Since we were on a 30 day free trial, obliviously that was not a concern.

Ok, all this talk about YTTV using your IP address got me curious, so I switched my Internet service from my Spectrum account to my AT&T cell Internet service. The Spectrum account has an IP address from Syracuse, NY, but I live in the Albany, NY DMA and get those locals. My AT&T IP address is...

Cuts and Mergers at Streaming Companies

An HDMI splitter would cut down on the number of signals needed as long as the individual TV's want the same program. I've seen 1 in 4 out splitters, but I don't know what the quality is. I use a 1 in 2 out splitter with excellent picture quality to a mixed size pair of TV's.

    How things have changed

Charter/Spectrum is strongly pushing their streaming service as well. I expect as a prelude to dropping their cable TV offerings. I might consider them for streaming except for the fact that you can only get the locals when you're connected to their Internet service. Not good if you travel much...

When will it be time to change the name of the site?

Management is aware of the whole incident. They offered me a free ticket and popcorn. On the other hand, my wife and I went to a new to us restaurant for lunch today, and the young lady seating us had no problem politely asking several people to move their chairs a bit so I could get through...

When will it be time to change the name of the site?

He said it would be too disruptive for the other patrons. As far as I could tell, that section of the theater couldn't have been more 25% full, so I have no idea who I would be "disrupting". My take is that he's a kid that likes throw his limited "authority" around. The bigger issue is that the...

When will it be time to change the name of the site?

I've since had some folks tell me about another local theater that's very accommodating to the disabled that need to do things a little differently than able bodied folks. We'll try there when the opportunity comes along.

When will it be time to change the name of the site?

My wife and I with our two daughters tried to enter a local theater to watch Killers of the Flower Moon courtesy of our daughter's employer. I was surprised when we got our tickets and entered the lobby where I was stopped by an usher and told I could not take my walker into the theater. Since I...

When will it be time to change the name of the site?

We went to our daughter's house yesterday, joining her boy friend, her twin sister, our granddaughter and her husband, and our 7 year old great granddaughter. Had a great time with no political or religious talk and no TV. Had a very nice time!

Traditional Providers Losses, 3rd Quarter 2023 Edition

Spectrum already offers a streaming service, although I don't know if it carries all of their programming. It's been awhile since I've checked, but it used to be that there were some channels, including the locals, that could only be streamed if you were connected to Spectrum Internet in your...

Traditional Providers Losses, 3rd Quarter 2023 Edition

While upping the speed on the Spectrum Internet at our NY cottage, the CSR saw that I had only their Internet service. He said upping the speed for better streaming was a good idea since he expected Spectrum to drop their video service in favor of only streaming before too much longer.

    How things have changed

As I said, "...just the competitive churn numbers within the each service format changing for the most part." I fully expect to see the individual streaming service provider numbers changing as people settle in with their likes and dislikes, but that's within the streaming format. What we're...

    How things have changed

I have to disagree that everyone has already settled on a service format. If we all had, why are the numbers for each service still going up and down so much. If everyone had already picked, the numbers should be fairly stable with just the competitive churn numbers within the each service...

Not a CRT, but is a non-smart TV bought new last year. I do have to correct one thing in my post, the TV is 28", not 32". The 32" is one I bought for my daughter's bedroom for Christmas. The TV is listed as: "28” LED HDTV by Continu.us | CT-2860 High Definition Non-Smart Television 720p 60Hz...
