    Netflix Prices Increase

I watch Hulu a lot more than expected, mostly older shows, their own stuff kinda sucks.

First experience with a fireTV stick

Amazon is blowing out Recast, which probably means a new model coming. Can't decide whether to buy or wait.

First experience with a fireTV stick

Twice this year they put the 4k on sale for $30. Doesn't matter if you have 4k or not.

    Comcast/Peacock vs Roku

If I cared about NBC, CBS, etc I wouldn't cut the cord. 99.9999999% of their content is overproduced mediocre pulp.

    Poll: Fire Stick or Roku?

I have a 4 year old TCL bought for my office, it's okay. I would say it's pretty good for what I paid. The downside is the Roku interface has gotten slow so I plugged in a fire stick.

    Poll: Fire Stick or Roku?

"Reached for comment, a spokesperson for HBO Max parent company WarnerMedia told Gizmodo the company had no comment. A spokesperson for NBCUniversal, Peacock’s parent, said that “talks are ongoing.” Roku didn’t immediately return a request for comment." So the whole article is unsubstantiated...

    Poll: Fire Stick or Roku?

I believe you meant to quote someone else but earlier this year Amazon put the 4k sticks sale for $24.99 limit 1. I tried to buy a second in a subsequent sale and they wouldn't let me. The normal sale price, as you say, is $34. I don't believe I ever said they are regularly $24.99 on sale.

    Poll: Fire Stick or Roku?

It's luck of the draw. Electronics sometimes go bad, they make millions of them and some are going have flaws.

    Poll: Fire Stick or Roku?

If I dig out my old Roku2 it will be so slow that you'd notice. Matter of fact I could show you the speed difference between previous generation Fire stick and Roku TV. Or Roku Stick and Fire stick, if the Roku Stick hadn't died.

Three's Company and Johnny Carson, some western channels. Pluto is awesome, I hate commercials though.

    Poll: Fire Stick or Roku?

I have both. Roku has a better UI but Fire sticks last longer. Rokus get slower and slower with every software update. Fire sticks slow down but you can clear the cache to fix it. I've never sideloaded but that's a plus. I would prefer Roku but my experience has been better with Fire. All my...

    Fire stick losing audio sync

I've had 3 Roku, there are things I like about both. Roku has a superior interface. I like the Fire voice search and Alexa. I bought a Roku stick and a Fire stick of the same generation and the Roku got slower and slower with every update but the Fire stick is still the same speed. The Roku died...

No because it is almost new, didn't think a reset would be necessary. The problem didn't show up until about month after I bought it.

This seems to have worked on YouTube, fingers crossed it stays. It's a pretty new Fire stick. Pluto was in sync today too and I didn't do anything to it.

    Fire stick losing audio sync

I found a lot of posts about it around the internet, and a lot of suggestions that don't work.. has anyone had the problem of their Fire streaming device losing audio sync and been able to fix it? It's bad on YouTube and Pluto, comes and goes on Prime, never happens to Netflix. Amazon is silent...

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

Bought a new Fire 4k stick and it's a nice upgrade. Controls my tv, receiver, the remote is quieter, buttons softer to push, and it's faster. I didn't like the Fire stick when I first got one but it has grown on me and outlasted the Roku stick I bought around the same time.

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

Most of locals are about 6 miles away but I still need an outdoor antenna for reliable reception because of geography. PBS is 32mi away about 270 degrees relative to locals. Then there is a third station I'd like to get that is about 20 miles opposite direction from PBS. An Omni directional...

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

I only need a DVR on one tv. Switching inputs is not a problem, been doing that for years. What might be important is a DVR that can handle multiple antennas as it looks like I'm going to need two. But there might be a better solution.

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

I distrust lifetime service agreements, they never, ever, last a lifetime. Eventually the company will weasel out of it or be sold.

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

I would like to get back on topic because I hope to be cutting the cord in a few months and I'm going to need an OTA DVR solution. The contenders right now are the Amazon Recast or the new Nvidia Shield.
