Edision OS Mio 4k, What's the largest size external drive it can handle?

How about a new WD 4TB HDD for $120? Seems a good price. I guess you want external powered. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-easystore-4tb-external-usb-3-0-portable-hard-drive-black/6406511.p?skuId=6406511

    Install new version of TNAP?

I just downloaded the new update for TNAP5 dated January 1, 2024. See images below. First image shows using Positioner Setup with a locked SNR of 17.32 dB. Note the two decimal places. Second image shows same transponder with the dish not precisely aimed showing a non-locked SNR of 1.40 dB...

    Install new version of TNAP?

Edision shines again. If your dish gets anywhere near a signal then the SNR starts bobbing to let you know you're near. And the two-decimal point Positioner Setup fix will be in the next set of online updates.

    Install new version of TNAP?

I brought this to el bandido's attention. He has sent an image showing Positioner Setup displaying two decimal places! So let's hope we can get this too in the near future. I already have a new pre-release of software that allows displaying of a signal even if not yet locked. This is great for...

    Install new version of TNAP?

I noticed this right away. But it doesn't bother me. I only receive one transponder where I need more than whole integer resolution. That's LPB on 87W. In most cases, 0.5 dB this way or that doesn't visually matter. In fact, I've been using USALS lately for this reason. Perhaps precise tuning...

    Install new version of TNAP?

This is to encourage Edision users to take the plunge and update to TNAP5. It is stable and there are good reasons to update. My Mio+ box is now more of an entertainment centre than just a satellite receiver. It handles streaming very conveniently, if that's important to you. With my 1 Gbps...

    Streaming from OSmio4K to TV

For my Edision Mio+, I use SignalMeter. Once you start streaming on your smartphone then you can "cast" the stream to your local TV on the same network.

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

Today is a sunny clear day. So using the SNR as my tuning aid, I have scanned in a total of 12 channels. This includes new channels 24-1 to 24-4 KBCB at 503 MHz on the same tower but 150 feet lower down the mast from KVOS' antenna. I had never received them before. They are the weakest of all...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

Glad you told me that. I've been looking for an excuse to update to TNAP5. I did and SNR now shows! My "local" station in Victoria, BC (CHEK 6-1 on 485 MHz) about 66 miles away is 16.0 dB in the rain. KVOS 12-1 to 12-7 on 473 MHz and 77 miles away is jumping around from 13.0 to 15.2 dB. At this...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

After trying the antenna 20 feet high on a mast, I quickly discovered height is not what counts in this situation. There was zero signal at 20 feet. But at about 4 feet off the ground, there is solid signal much of the time. Sunset time is tricky since the signal seems to drop out then briefly...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

I can try removing the CM-7777 which is a high-quality 30 dB preamp. I know when using near Toronto everybody suggested it would have too much gain. But they didn't account for the fact that my Clearstream antenna was only 5 feet high and stuck between houses on top of a fence in a difficult...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

I'm lucky that the path to KVOS is almost totally over water. That ridge is likely the only obstacle as shown in your link. However, the water path could be what causes conditions to change. I know from a past life that microwave links across water can suffer from deep fades and loss of signal...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

This is my RabbitEars report: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1154222 Late last night the Weigel channels eventually were received. This morning all are still crystal clear. So maybe conditions last night earlier in the evening were poor for some reason. ADDED: This report is for the antenna at...

Edision Mio+ with Hauppague 950Q OTA

Today I connected a Hauppauge 950Q to my Edision Mio+ receiver. I can only receive two OTA stations at my remote location. Both of these scan into my Sony TV with a total of 8 channels. I know that their signals are not strong since the transmitters are 63 (CHEK Victoria, BC) and 77 miles (KVOS...

    EPG discussion on Enigma2 STB's

I can't find a schedule that matches AWE Encore. We receive AWE on our Eastlink cable channel. Its schedule matches your International schedule. But it differs from AWE Encore. I suspect AWE Encore is a clever way the owners of AWE can sell the same product to distribution systems who offer AWE...

    Please review TNAP firmware slot/programming

Leave Slot 1 empty. That's where the USB slot automatically writes to if using a USB memory stick to upgrade. When you put a new TNAP into a slot, you usually have the choice for a whole new install or to keep personal configurations. In theory, if you keep your configurations, then there would...

No Video on my Edision OS Mio+ 4k

I'm lightly monitoring this thread. When I was suspicious of my wall wart, I decided to try an external power supply. Don't do this! The slightly higher voltage from the power supply literally smoked my Edision. My original problem was something like yours: it worked when I turned it off. Months...

Edision OS Mio+ 4k Now Available at Hypermegasat

He will ship to Canada as long as you pay for shipping. Shipping across the border goes smoothly. I've ordered several times from Hypermegasat. He's my "go to guy" if he has what I need. Get the Edision Mio+ (two tuner model). You won't regret. And you won't find it new for sale in Canada.

    Playing Youtube through Edision Mio+

Youtube also wasn't working on my new Edision Mio+. I followed this procedure and it's working fine now. Why do I use Edision to stream youtube? Just because it's convenient and I want to make it work. I also use my PC at different times which works fine too.

Edision OS Mio+ 4k Now Available at Hypermegasat

The Edision OS Mio+ is my first choice for a satellite receiver as I just proved by buying one recently. I've read about a newish Edision OS Mini 4K S2X which sounds similar to the Mio+. This is a new version of the former Mini. If the Mio+ units become impossible to get, I wonder if the Mini...

    OS MIO+ 4K Switching Tuner A/B Question

Using memory (a dangerous activity), I used to configure and scan Dish #1 (1.2m motorized) using Tuner A. I would then configure and scan Dish #2 (1m fixed) using Tuner B. Once all the satellites were scanned in on each dish, then I could use the Signalfinder feature to look at the signal...
