    I have always installed my own DirecTV equipment. Voom would prefer to not do business but FORCE the use of these so called "professional" installers. I know you have read many messages on this and the Yahoo forum. I certainly recall reading many posts were similar install horror stories...

    DirecTV has offered self-installs for 10 years now. They seem to be doing ok. IMO, Voom has a "Cable company monopoly" mentality. That will give you problems when there is no monopoly....
