    Movies Voom introduced you to.

If any of the Voom 21 channels are to live on, it will be Monsters!

    Movies Voom introduced you to.

Bubba Ho-Tep! A great film with more depth than you could ever expect from a B movie. I liked it so much that I copied it to DVD off of Monsters and even bought the movie later for all of the extras.

    Voom Deathbed Reflections

More fine coments that let you know a cable company can't run a satellite business. A company that has a captive audience just can't make it where there is a different degree of competition because the marketing needed is TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I agree wholeheartedly.

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

You can get any equipment you need. Just ask when you call them.

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

Thanks again to everyone involved. I sat up late last night and did as much homework as I can and it appears that the thought of either of these services replacing Voom is a pipedream. I went through the StarChoice HD listings and didn't find one show that was not already on my cable provider's...

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

OK, that's exactly what it is. They choose the best rated stuff out there and place it on the 9 channels they have. Good stuff, but not one show is not available on my Charter cable I have now (just installed HD service with DVR). So, unlike Voom, nothing new. However, EV* seems to at least have...

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

OK, now I am really confused. This looks like they have 9 total channels of HD and fill them with whatever seems to be best at that time slot. HELP! At least ExpressVu has dedicated HD channels and networks.

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

The thing I'll miss the most about Voom are the posters like SeattleVoomer1. I especially like the updates here and on the Yahoo Forums of the weather conditions in Seattle! Maybe we can get the other sat area changed to ExpressVu and/or StarChoice instead of "other". I am definitely going...

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

Iceberg: Thanks for all of the good info. I now beleive I will end up with StarChoice. Looks good to me for what I need (has to be an add-on service as I have to keep local cable for a local sports channel and local news and weather). Most Voomers need to get familiarized with this...

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

The only way to figure content is www.expressvu.com They offer 25 HD channels, 6 are HD PPV (movies, adult, events) 10 are the US networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox and PBS)east and west feeds Two are Canadian sports channels Three are Canadian Broadcst Networks (two channels, one is the east...

May 1st where will you be? Dish, Cable or DirecTV?

Installed Charter HD today. Two tuner DVR, 9 HD channels (4 are networks). God, I am going to miss Voom.

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

I have been doing my research and it seems Express Vu from Canada may be the best HD value out there now for Voom customers. I wonder if it needs its own Satelliteguys forum? Maybe they will license Voom21 content.

    I like the Voom remote!

I'll tell you one thing: the Voom remote is the only remote I have gotten that will also control my Gateway (Sampo) plasma TV. It must have a great code database. Of course my Pronto will, but I mean with "canned" codes, not learning.

    VooM will Live On

I for one believe Voom WILL be swallowed up rather than fade away. Right now D* is winning the PR war and E* cannot let that go on- which they could counter by adding all of the HD Voom has (can you see the ads---"compelling HDTV, NOW). I believe E* would love to have all of Voom's bandwidth at...

Do you know anyone who has voom?

Vooming in Alabama Well, I personally know five people in the Birmingham area that have Voom. But, we can all read, so that may have something to do with it.

So what are the main stations Voom is missing in their programming?

I have Voom and my local HD Cable for really only one reason: Networks! It adds up to a bunch of bucks, but I get my HD fix. If I could get the locals OTA, I could live without the other "missing" channels. I agree with the assessment of watching almost anything in HD- I even watched Ivy...

    Answer on VOOM Customer Service

I would rather make a deal with him to let me do the install and he gets paid for it. He can go get peed on by some other voomer and I won't have to worry if he is peeing on my house, killing my grass, making my roof leak, etc. |:-)

    Answer on VOOM Customer Service

OK, as I said in another thread, my install for yesterday was botched- no show. However, I must say that I never felt at any time like either Voom or Installs, Inc.'s customer service was less than up to par. Got through on the phone immediately on each call I made and the reps were helpful. I...
