Who's staying up until Zero hour tonight?

It will be at Midnight here on the West Coast so I will be up to see how it all ends. I am also curious to see if they leave some demo channels running in the clear promoting E* and Voom 21. It has been fun, and I hope since E* is picking up Voom 21 that it will jump start other...

Another rabbit in C. Dolan's hat?

I spoke with a CSR today about any news of how, when or if they wanted the STB's back and I then asked him if he was going to be able to maintain another position within CVC and he said that several of the CSR's were contacted yesterday about the possibility of staying on with CVC after the V*...

    How many out there.......

I Have Cox HD service scheduled to start on April 27th, but I will be watching V* till it is goes black. then I will switch over the connections to the Cox STB's myself. I want to get as much Vooming in as possible, because it may be a few years till we have such a wide choice of HD...

Watching Inhd1 & 2 under sunny skies in Arizona

When I lined up my install for Cox HD service here in Phoenix, the CSR told me that they will be adding OLN HD next month, and they will be trying to add additional HD channels every month! Of course this is a CSR talking so who knows how much truth there is to that. But like you, I would at...

Too late, they are not doing any more programing changes.

    Express Vu/Star Choice Satellite

This is available for the Northern and North Eastern states, but it would not cover the Phoenix area where I am located. :no

    MonstersHD.com and other channel websites

I think it is April 27th or 28th, I know it is right before the 30th. At least they are going out with style on Monsters HD!

So who is going to offer the best deal for Ex Voom customers

Exactly.... That is why on April 27th I have scheduled an install for Cox HD service here in Phoenix. I can lease 1 HD DVR and 1 regular HD box (2 HDTV's) with subscriptions to HBO, Showtime and Starz HD channels, along with the other 11 HD channels (six of these are local though) plus another...

Common sense says VOOM/HD Select is not dead!

This has been done in the past as well... I am sure that someone out there remembers USSB before D* aquired the company. That could end up being run as a service much like USSB was back in the mid 90's. I believe that C.Dolan had no choice but to vote for the shutdown of V*, lets face it...

Where are all the VOOMERS Going?

IMO Digital Cable is better than either E* or D*. If I decide to go with any other provider after V* goes dark, it will be with Cox Cable here in Phoenix.

VOOM's 21 HD Channels to Which Dish Service and PQ?

I just called Cox Cable here in Phoenix, and they currently have 8 HD channels (Not including local HD) and the csr at Cox told me that they would be adding OLN HD next month and they have plans to add at least one HD channel a month! This is probably just all smoke and mirrors, and I have not...

"Attendance is manditory" on wednesday morning from installer....

I am jealous now... :D V* should put some of this merchandise up for sale on their web site. I collect coffee cups, and a shirt, hat and key chain would be nice also! They would probably be surprised how much product they would sell!

"Attendance is manditory" on wednesday morning from installer....

Good point! lets see... a mandatory meeting for the installers on Wednesday... V* is sending out letters this week about lowering the multi-room pricing and stating that 50 new channels are coming (I think 20 are already on the system)... maybe this is leading up to a massive dish change out...

    SONY and VOOM

Sony would be a good alternative to Motorola. It is already my favorite TV, so why not have a matching STB... :) .. In an article at this link http://www.pcworld.com/resource/article/0,aid,120161,pg,1,RSS,RSS,00.asp it looks as though Sony is considering backing off of their "Blu-Ray"...

    tomorrow

Not wanting to get too far off topic, but if V* does switch over to Rainbow- 2, will they be able to broadcast simultaneously from both Rainbow-1 and Rainbow-2 until everyone's dish and LNB is switched out? Just curious as to how the changes would be made to the new bird without a disruption...

****My rant against PQ on New Encoders****

I agree with the quality today on Universal HD being better, but then maybe I don't see what others are seeing.. I am using a 57 inch Sony CRT via Component at 1080i for the STB. I would use DVI, but I have my Samsung up-convert DVD player hooked up via DVI.. Just my 2 cents worth..

****My rant against PQ on New Encoders****

I have been watching Universal HD most of the day and have seen very little PQ issues today. Just switched over to Rush HD and I do see some pixelation during motion shots, but it is very minimal in my opinion. Speaking of Universal HD, it is interesting that Voom is advertised on that...
