How is VOOM going to uninstall 46,000 people in one month?

Hi: I spoke with a VOOM CSR yesterday and he said they are shutting down customer service at the end of May. If they do this, who is going to be there to schedule the removal of the dishes and antennas and the patching of roofs and walls in order to make customers whole? Are they going to...

I have to look no further for an HD provider.

I have the iodata Linkplayer2 DVD player which also upconverts over component. It also plays HD-WMV and HD-Divx files and HD mpg-2 transport streams and a bunch other formats either off a cd or dvd or served wired or wirelessly from my PC. The only thing it can not do yet is the MS DRM on...

why can't VOOM answer a simple question now?

I am getting madder and madder as the 30th approaches that VOOM will not let customers with purchased receivers know if the OTA is going to work after the 30th or if they are going to give us a partial or full refund for the 2 year in-home service contract on the box. I just called to order...

Why didn't VOOM have a shutdown plan in place??

What is going on with VOOM? Are they so mismanaged that, even though they planned to shut down over a month ago, they did not think to have basic shutdown policies in place? What happens to a leased receiver that stops working this month? - no service call. Will you still be charged this...

    C. Dolan Fork up another $10mil and refund bow ownere

Tuckers and Deloreans coninued to function after the companies went out of business. The VOOM box will not. This situation is like if a car company discontinued a single model and then caused all the existing cars of that model to stop working and then refused to provide warranty service on...

    C. Dolan Fork up another $10mil and refund bow ownere

Could someone provide proof that VOOM "offered" to convert any box purchasers to the lease plan. My memory is that you had to call up and say you wanted an uninstall and re-install to get them to make the switch. Even then, you had to get the right CSR and they told me that if I switched I...

    Wgn?????

The DVR never really existed did it? I thought so.

Voom should give all subscribers a gift!

I am serious - when I made the decision to stick with purchase rather than switch to lease I figured on the cost of the box divided by the 24 month service warranty. Anyone who would allow themselves to be denied what they paid for and what was promised in writing would be foolish.

Voom should give all subscribers a gift!

Because they are warranted to work for a certain period and that period has not expired. With no service the box won't work. There is a precedent for this type of thing - some other TV box I think - where the company had to give people their money back when the company closed prematurely. A...

Voom should give all subscribers a gift!

They should also give subscribers who purchased their boxes their money back.

    received response

That seems to be someone's comment to every complaint about VOOM's poor service, lack of DVR, lack of promised new channels, etc.... Last I heard, VOOM was still employing the same number of people and charging subscribers full price. If they want to go into a "holding pattern" maybe they...

    received response

For anyone who has had VOOM for a while 17 of the 18 movies you describe have already been shown repeatedly. VOOM is only adding ONE new movie to the KungFU HD rotation for the entire month of April. In March, they added a whopping 5 movies for the whole month.

    Rumor: VOOM/Echostar Deal?

Mine was blinking too and it opened to a March/April newsletter. Nothing new except a listing of all the new channels that were added. Nothing about the DVR or any additional channels. It did list channel 340 FSNFL as being in the VAVAVOOM package but I think that is another lie.

    Voom DVR???

To answer your question, you should wait until the DVR is released until you sign up. Everyone is talking about the regular DVR - the multi-room does not even has an expected release year. If you are in NJ you can get almost as many HD programs using the comcast HD DVR as you can with VOOM...

Will VOOM be getting YES or is that impossible?

No Yankees in NYC on ESPN2 - Why?

Thanks BFG, I called Voom and they said that ESPN2 was blocking the signal not VOOM. Is that possible?

No Yankees in NYC on ESPN2 - Why?

Hi: Are all the local games going to be blacked out on espn, espnHD, espn2, and espn2HD (if we ever get that) this year?? Tonights red sox/yankees game was blacked out and not available on any other station on VOOM. How am I supposed to get the games without signing up with another provider...

    real dumb voom question

If you want a DVR you should wait until VOOM actually releases one before you sign up. Do not trust them to release it "soon" or you will be disappointed like many others.

    Idea: DVR Early Sign-Up

This is one of the more rediculous things I have seen since we don't know the price or how the thing works. Sign me up anyway. 1. tdillon 2. Bilodeau 3. jbcheshire 4. timbuckone 5. atp1313 6. ardbell 7. Danielle 8. truqui (tdillon...you ket us know what the bugs are, OK?) 9.kemguy...

    One week & no news

How could you possibly believe that. We are waiting for an agreement to be announced. The announcement will be made as soon as an agreement is reached and they had only three weeks to reach an agreeement. Two weeks has passed and we have heard nothing and only one week is left. It is bad...

Do we get HBO Pay Per View?

I don't buy it. What was "occupying" Charles and Tom Dolan's attention 9 months ago or 12 months ago when the PPV should have been working? If I pay for HBO I expect to be able to pay for HBO PPV events. Are there any other providers that do not offer HBO PPV events?

Do we get HBO Pay Per View?

No More PPV Well I guess somewhere along the line VOOM lost the ability to offer us PPV fights. Even though they have done this twice in the past they now choose not to serve their customers. A full 18 months after they launch and they still don't offer the HD PPV that other providers offer...

Do we get HBO Pay Per View?

Hi: Voom has had Pay-per-View fights in the past. One that was $1.00 and one that was free. I called VOOM and the CSR said to check channel 999 for information.

No new channels this weekend - this is a bad sign

No, this is a good sign. Why would VOOM add all these new channels for only 16 days? They are obviously going to be broadcasting after 3/31/05
