Scaring Fox News viewers, who aren't affected by this contract dispute, is a deceptive tactic.

Directv A&E opt in or out

This has nothing to do with usage. Four channels were removed from Select and Entertainment going forward. Existing customers can be grandfathered on request. When the transition period is over, new Entertainment Package customers will no longer receive the four A&E channels, period.

Another Retrans dispute - this time COX/Apollo - about to hit AT&T/DIRECTV

I completely agree with you. But Congress has been paid off by the broadcasters and they will not change it to be free for cable and satellite providers. In fact, the law was vetoed by Bush and Congress overrode his objections by a big margin.

Another Retrans dispute - this time COX/Apollo - about to hit AT&T/DIRECTV

No one is being held hostage. Put up an antenna, watch on Locast, subscribe to CBS for $5, go to a friend's house or switch to a different provider. It's all good. Life goes on. Hostage-taking is putting a gun to someone's head, not taking away a silly TV program.

Another Retrans dispute - this time COX/Apollo - about to hit AT&T/DIRECTV

I'm not saying it does, but that it could be configured that way if AT&T chose to. Why is the app still kept on the Genie receiver if they won't let it work? They contributed $500,000 to Locast about a year ago. What's the grand strategy here?

Another Retrans dispute - this time COX/Apollo - about to hit AT&T/DIRECTV

The nice thing about using Locast on Genie is that you would be able to record the local programs and diginets. I guess AT&T management hasn't thought that out yet.

Another Retrans dispute - this time COX/Apollo - about to hit AT&T/DIRECTV

What can the FCC do about it? This situation was created by legislation passed by Congress. Does anyone's Locast app work? Last time I checked it was installed on the Genie app but wasn't operable.

    Channel Updates

Cheddar and i24 are both free channels available on Roku. Most likely they are paying DTV to pay for the placement. They appear to not be satellite channels , but are available via the Internet.

Major channel changes in May 2019 - All AT&T Video Services

Probably 6 million existing customers won't bother to add it that saves directv $$$. Of course, new customers won't be able to get it unless they upgrade.

Major channel changes in May 2019 - All AT&T Video Services

DTV is dropping the channels, not Viacom. Saves them money and helps them build up Boomerang, which they recently bought.
