Announcement says phased activation of Network and a Mandatory update. Of course the network is flooded and it is taking forever to download the updated even on a fast connection.

Still pretty much broken. Some hint they may have tried to open it up this week, and had NEW security breachs and shut it down again. Not sure how anyone outside of Sony has been able to blog in the PSN about it, but apparently some people can.

They fixed PSN to work with them. But to get the date to be correct you need to manually update it. Just go to the date and time settings and ask it to update via the internet.

Unless your linksys has very ancient code, its not the linksys causing problem if you set it up as DMZ and it still doesn't work. Probably something about your ISP or its modem. There is much more complete discsussion on how to to get to NAT 2 on the PSN forums. Including how to set it up...

GOW collection is now out. I played about 1/3 of GOW I. The game looks quite good, and the game play seems a touch smoother.

I haven't played much of the the online game. Just enough to get the 100% Trophies. There are additional medals, some in the single player game and a lot in the online that don't count as trophies. Don't particularly care for the Deathmatchs. Maybe because I have such a low number of games...

The boss seemed okay on the PS3. Never played it on the 360.

I got a notice from Amazon that this was shipped. Haven't gotten yet. Ninja Gaiden Sigma was one of the early hits on the PS3. Xbox 360 got its version of this last year. Apparently there are differences for the PS3. Supposively some enhancements but less violent and perhaps a bit easier.

Also includes the ability to output stereo audio to multiple outputs simultaneously. If enabled the HDMI still outputs mult-channel audio but is limited to 5.1 at 48/44.1 HZ. Still might be useful if you don't always want to use your stereo for sound.

Don't forget to turn off the SSID broadcast. This is a widespread problem with the PS3 particularly with Linksys, even with the latest software.

The new 80gb has no ps2 compatibility. The older 80gb bundles Motorcross or MGS4 had about 85% compatibility. They also had 4 USB ports and card reader slots which is a easy way to recognize them. All PS3 have software PS1 compatibility.

Make sure to turn off ssid broadcast. This signal with the ps3/linksys tends to cause it to try and renogatiate its connection. And of course change your ssid to something unique instead of LINKSYS.
