    Pre-amp suggestion

I only have 1 TV and tuner though so I can't feed them to 2 TV's so splitting them would be pointless. SS did say if I combine them the combiner should be the last thing before the TV. I have it the first thing after the line from the antennas which is fed into the preamp.

    Pre-amp suggestion

Well it's probably because they're sharing the preamp. A 2nd would should solve the problem (right?)

    Pre-amp suggestion

it's not just Fox 2, it's all of the stations, even ABC 12 from Flint, as well at WDIV, WTVS, WKBD etc etc. I live on a busy road and cars interfere with the signals on everything!

    Pre-amp suggestion

Yeah so the antenna alone doesn't have VHF gain but with a VHF/UHF preamp it does. Obviously both retailers I asked think the AP8700 would be enough (17 db gain VHF) too.

    Pre-amp suggestion

Their website also says "VHF range 45 miles". "UHF only" actually means "UHF gain only". Both my antennas are supposedly UHF only but they both receive VHF fine with my preamp. Both channels are VHF High though, I don't know if they'd get VHF Low, since there's none of those around here. I was...

    Pre-amp suggestion

Also my RS U75R says it's UHF only but ABC 12 from Flint is 5x5.

    Pre-amp suggestion

Their website says it gets both and Fox 2 comes in good most of the time, except when traffic is too heavy. Pick up FREE Digital TV with Channel Master digital HDTV Antenna CM-4228HD for the best TV antenna reception

    Pre-amp suggestion

When a lot of cars drive by at once, the stations from Detroit get all garbled. The video freezes or drops out, as does the audio. The techies call it "multipath interference" I believe. A local place and Solid Signal both recommended the Winegard AP8700, so I'm going to get that. Now if only...

    Pre-amp suggestion

Those new inventions called automobiles interfere with my signal.

    Pre-amp suggestion

I can get them fine except when traffic is too heavy. Bigger antenna isn't needed.

    Pre-amp suggestion

Where did I say distribution amp? I want a preamp.

    Pre-amp suggestion

60 miles under optimal conditions. The stations I try to watch on it break up though.

    Pre-amp suggestion

I have a Channel Master CM-4428HD mounted 30' AGL. What pre-amp do I need to receive stations that are 50+ miles away?

How do I solve this problem

No they're all sporadic depending on the time of day/night and weather

How do I solve this problem

Its not Fox 7 its Fox 2. 7 is its actual channel and 2 is its virtual channel/old analog number. In Detroit virtual 7 (actual 41) is ABC. Anyways yes I want to get WJBK, WDIV, WXYZ, WMYD, WPXD, WKBD and WWJ

How do I solve this problem

Yeah well what I'm trying to figure out is theoretically, will a higher gain antenna actually make the interference from the heavy traffic go away or not? If it won't I don't want to waste the money and time putting it up. Or should I just get a higher pole, a stronger pre-amp, etc.?
  17. TomCat4680

How do I solve this problem

Yes and it works most of the time.

How do I solve this problem

I already have my old antenna aimed at Detroit. I can get Flint stations on the satellite so its pointless to get them OTA.

How do I solve this problem

I'm in 48458 and I want to get the Detroit stations (45-60 miles away).
  20. TomCat4680

How do I solve this problem

Well the antenna already is above the traffic, its on a flat second story roof. Not high enough though I guess.

How do I solve this problem

I live on a busy road when traffic gets too heavy my distant stations drop out (multipath interference I think its called?). Theoretically, what's the best way to fix this: increase the height of the antenna? get a higher gain antenna? get a higher powered pre-amp?

Is my amp's power source dead?

In case anyone was wondering: yes, my old power source was dead yes, the PS 1403 is its replacement and I now have one. I'm getting half of the distant stations again. I guess I still need a high gain antenna or 2 though.

Is my amp's power source dead?

    No but maybe I will.

Is my amp's power source dead?

Solid Signal says the PS 1503 is discontinued. Winegard PS1503 Power Injector / Inserter for Pre-amp 15 Volt (PS-1503) - Winegard - PS-1503 - I emailed Solid Signal and Winegard about it. When I searched for it on there though it also lists the PS 1403 which is a different...

Is my amp's power source dead?

I have a Winegard HDP769 preamp with a PS 1503 power supply. The light on the power supply doesn't come on any more and some of my channels stopped coming in or come in worse. The AC adapter is still hot though. Is the power source dead? I also noticed its model has been discontinued. I just...
