    RF signals are basically Line Of Sight. TV reception beyond about 65 miles is luck. That's when the curvature of the earth already kicks in, no matter how good the equipment. 500 miles is impossible.

    I'm getting KJRH right now just fine on UHF56. I have a Antennas Direct XG91 and it works great. I once managed to get channel 9 out of OKC with that antenna, but this was tropspheric luck. Still the XG91 pulled it off, since VHF9 is Hi VHF and the XG91 is UHF only. But I don't think it's gonna...

    Thank you for the advice TowerGuy. I ordered the Winegard from SolidSignal.com I just have to switch the CM7777 to use the VHF input seperately right? And BTW, I did not know that 1000KW on UHF56 gets you just as far as 18KW on VHF8. I would have never thought that. That's incredible!

    According to this, compared to the current receiption scheme, I would have a better signal from KJRH providing I'd add a good VHF antenna to my 91XG and activate the VHF input on my CM7777. What would be a good VHF only antenna for 75 miles from the towers?

    Other question: I saw on Rick's new setup, that he used standoffs for running the coax down the mast. Does it really matter, or is it better for the optics? Does it interfere with reception if it's just zip-tied to the mast or not, since it's shielded coax?
