Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

Ok. I switched out the 2 winegard ya-1713 and installed 2 new antennacraft y10-7-13 spaced 45 inches apart. The coax was right at 70". I had to go longer on the "suggested" cable length since the feed point on these antennas was pretty far away from the mast. Anyway,I'm getting channel 9...

Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

Yes- we have several radio stations in the area. So you think it might be the folded dipoles that makes the antennacraft a better antenna?

Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

I have an antenna craft pointing to lake charles. It picks up channel 7 great.Never a problem them...and lake charles is further than baton rouge. Maybe I should just swing the antennas around and see what happens.LOL I've always liked antennacraft.Expectially the MXU series

    Channel master 4247 question

Ok- I found the answer. It's the "lower" wider lugs. Found the answer in antennas and distibution system book by MJ Salvati which claims this antenna as one of the best ever built for uhf. (mainly because of the diamond directors).Too bad the China men don't make this one. I have a channel...

Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

I've just did a little typing so far. I have the antennas stacked already, but I'm still getting drop out from a city 50 miles away. I also get a very strong signal from another station( same city),but it's on the uhf band. I think I spaced them at 32" when I installed them.Used a wineguard...

    Which Splitter to use

You can also get a regular 2 output amplifier with adjustable gain. (somewhere?)

Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

I went to the link bob2011 supplied and wineguard says they recommend a 2/3 wavelength spacing ,which is 42" for channel 9. So I guess I'll go with the manufacturers recommendation. After all, they made the antenna,LOL....and the combiner, and the preamp, and the.......

Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

Thanks all for your quick responses. I do appreciate it !!!!! I'm actually going after channel 9,and yes, it's a ya-1713

Spacing on stacked wineguard high bands

What would be the required spacing on 2 wineguard high band antennas pointing at the same direction (stacked) I understand it's either a full or half wavelength of the lowest channel that the antenna picks up. I'm good at putting up antennas, but worthless when it comes to calculations.LOL Thanks

Combining 2 vhf high band antennas

Channel master used to have a whole line of channel filters made I presume for head ends. I used to have several cut to channel antennas. They are cost prohibitive or I would pick up a few more. I've taken down several MATV systems at apartment complexes. They wanted the tower and all removed.I...

Combining 2 vhf high band antennas

I was doing some searching for phasing harness last night and came across a 75 ohm T.It's just like the barrel, but only a T. Very interesting...so I ordered a few. This would be just like a phasing harness with no electronics or losses at the coupler.Hmmmm The phasing harness I was looking...

    RCA preamp with seperate inputs

Phasing harness.....now thats two words ya don't here much anymore. What would a guy make these with? Since the antenna spacing might depend on the channel and type of antenna your using. I remember seeing some "very" old vhf antennas in the area and the had a phasing harness with the output...

    RCA preamp with seperate inputs

Walmart has the rca for 21.06 online!!!! They have a GE video amp also.Works with video and antenna eqipment. They actually have alot of amplifiers including eagle aspen as a good price. I didn't know GE was in the antenna amp market

    RCA preamp with seperate inputs

Well I guess this is original.A RCA mast mounted preamp that has seperate or combined inputs for vhf and uhf. It says on inside instruction that this amp is made specific for digital channels.Unlike the other older models like channel master and wineguard that were made for analog. And yes,I...

Combining 2 vhf high band antennas

Yes-I'm stacking 2 identical antennas. I've the the more expensive combiners. Guess I'll go that route. There only around 20.00,and it's worth that to get good reception. Thanks

Combining 2 vhf high band antennas

Whats the best combiner to use for stacking 2 vhf high band antennas? I can;t find vhf only combiners unless it's for high/low band combining. I have several pico macom uvhf combiner/splitters. I'm guessing these would be the best?

is a clearstream 5 worth the investment if you are in a basement?

If I couldn't put up an outdoor antenna,I would do some reading on the quality indoor antenna ratings and reviews. I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money if it's going to sit indoors.I'm thinking there are better "indoor" antennas that pick up the all tv bands ( if thats what you...

How far apart should 2 antennas be and how should they be combined?

Thats a nice setup. And since they are not really over lapping each other except at the reflector,I'm sure it works great. I think what needs to be put out here is..the best way to combine 2 antennas is to amplify first, then combine. This looks like what you have done here, and it's failrly high...

How far apart should 2 antennas be and how should they be combined?

Four feet ,either seperate poles or same.Us a combiner or pre amp that have the seperate uhf/vhf inputs. The absolute best way to get the best is to us seperate pre amps and amplifiers for each antenna, then combine them using high quality combiners. This is the way cable tv does it (or used to...

    3 Star Inc.?

That's a cool looking design for a uhf antenna. You can do the same thing with 2 antenna, one above the other,or preferably on seperate masts. Seems the "adjustable" beamwidth is a seller. No talk of signal loss.Just the regular--I can get a station 100 miles away and it's only 10 feet in the...

    Stacking 2 CM4221 horizontal

Wow.That's all a little confusing. Thanks for the links. Seems I need to put the antennas as close as possible for stacking(kinda how the 16 bays are made) I like playing with antennas as much as satellite dishes,LOL
