I noticed that the article says it will be available in 80% of the country on launch. Is there any indication that they will be available in Chicago?

Wow - they just launched that channel 2 years ago and already are giving up on it for the Jewelry Television.

There have been so many changes. I do remember the days of the Saturday morning cartoons on CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX and flipping between the channels to see the ones I wanted. Then there was the Disney Afternoon - being in Chicago it was on WGN - not sure if it was on any of the big 4 networks...

I don't know - it would make sense to have it at 8:30 as well. I would prefer that! I never got into Last Man Standing like I did Home Improvement.

Thanks for posting that! It says that WGN will be having it at 8pm, which means Last Man Standing will no longer be on during it's current timeslot.

This doesn't surprise me one bit to throw themselves into the mix. NBC, ABC, FOX and WGN all have 4pm newscasts. CBS was the one that started at 5. My guess is Judge Judy would end up on WCIU. It would be a great fit at WCIU - a quick scan and WCIU has 8 hours of court/justice type shows...

So that means WGN will have news from 4-10am, Daytime Chicago from 10am-11, WGN Afternoon News from 11-1pm. Rachel Ray would be either 1, 2, or 3pm before the afternoon news goes from 4-7pm.

It says in that article that Allen Media Group owns the Weather Channel??? I had no idea on that. I had in my mind that NBC or Comcast owned Weather channel.

At least the Flinstones are still on Sunday morning. I find it strange that ME TV has 3 episodes of the Flinstones then one Jetsons on Sunday - I would have thought it would have been two of each.

Thanks for pointing that out to me - I have the Jetsons on right now - and just like all the other cartoons, it looks like it is digitally restored and colors are very vivid.

Here in Chicago we get MeTV in HD OTA, and I have never seen some of these cartoons in such clarity before. These classic cartoons look so sharp with their colors and restoration that was done. At least I assume they were restored somehow. Some of them are the 4:3 aspect ratio with the black...

Same thing is true in Chicago - we now have LAFF, CourtTV, The Grio, StartTV, and a handful of others on two different channels. Even our main CBS channel, WBBM CBS2, is available as a subchannel on 48-3.

So does this mean that Discovery is essence owns ION now? Or is this Scripps different than the Scripps Discovery bought a handful of years ago?

I always thought it was that ABC, CBS, and NBC found it cheaper and more people would watch news broadcasts Sat. morning.

I doesn't appear to be all FOX O&O though. Chicago is not on the list. Do the other markets listed in that article currently not have access to Decades so this is this just an expansion for markets without it? Or do some of those markets actually have a move from a CBS subchannel to FOX? I...
