    No HDTV!!! HELP!!!

Definately a signal or box authorization problem. Perhaps the signal is weak, sounds like you need them to roll a truck to test. How many splitters do you have upstream from the box?

    Bandwidth Caps ?

I was aware of the "Speedboost". The speedtests that were run use large files so they are not swayed by the "boost". Many use a "Speedo" type dial that shows in progress. Check out the speed tests on DSLReports.

Sylwin? Are you sure you didn't accidently log into some fantasy role-playing LoTR or D&D chat room? LOL Sounds like this guy didn't have a clue. He was answering you with questions.

    Bandwidth Caps ?

Of course it's steep, $15 for 10gig is a penalty for going over the download cap. Doesn't have anything to do at all with data rates. BTW: I recently tested at almost 14Mbps for a service that only bills itself as 6Mbps.

    Bandwidth Caps ?

Interesting.. this cap is probably going to impact users of IPTV services and DirecTV on Demand (if they use Comcast cable modem service).

New HD showed up right on schedule (Rockford, Ill)

Welcome to the world of Comcast HD. We just received 5 new ones here in Atlanta this week (ABC Family, Disney, Science, AMC & TLC), we had the other ones already.

    Moto 3416 Get's a New Look

Unless Philly has a large stock of previously installed DCT models they should not be handing them out as only already deployed DCTs are the ones allowed to be used as of last July per the separable security mandate by the FCC. Ones that are turned in can be re-deployed. If that's the case...

Moto DCT 3412 vs. Moto DCH 3416 differences

The xx16 does have 40GB more storage than the xx12 (160 vs 120). Other than that the only other technical difference is what they told you. This site has a lot of info on all of the Moto DVR models: DVR Chatter

    Moto 3416 Get's a New Look

Once again... quoting directly from my previous post in this thread: Comcast has been handing out DCH boxes since the FCC separable security mandate mid last-year. Just like Charter and everybody else out there that uses Moto boxes.

New Comcast HD User - Reception Questions

#1) Don't ever buy another Monster product again. You're throwing away your money for nothing but expensive marketing. #2) Have Comcast test your signal strength at each TV. Also as per previous post by nsafreak, check to see how many cascading splitter you might be using as this can cause...

Any new Hd Channels due out?

We're waiting on 5 new ones to show up here in Atlanta. They're available on unexcrypted QAM but haven't shown up on iGuide or tunable through our boxes. AMC HD TLC HD Science HD Disney HD ABC Family HD

    Comcast degrades HD signals

Yep, I've noticed the drop in quality on some of my Comcast HD channels. Apparently they're not doing the same extra compression on HD locals though because those look as good as they always have. While I appreciate that they are trying to beef up their HD channel numbers, I have to say that...

    Comcast OTA

The tuner is picking up the SF and USA off the cable in other words... your tuner is still set for cable which tells it to look for QAM. If you change your tuner to Antenna it will look for ATSC and SF and USA HD will disappear. Apparently Comcast in your area has SF and USA HD going out as...

    Comcast OTA

It's very possible his Comcast affiliate may have had SF and USA in the clear QAM at the time. I don't think it's shenanigans.. his other posts look legit.

    Moto 3416 Get's a New Look

Comcast has been handing out DCH boxes since the FCC separable security mandate mid last-year. Just like Charter and everybody else out there that uses Moto boxes. Just because this poster just recently received one (because of a recent switch from Dish) doesn't mean Comcast somehow lagged in...

Comcast rolls out super-fast Internet Speeds

This is the Comcast forum please keep it on topic and let's not get into the bashing. However, if you would like to make comparisons: FiOS is really barely even available in most areas. In the markets it is available it's still limited within those areas. The fastest speed I've heard even...

    Comcast OTA

QAM is the modulation Comcast uses to broadcast in. It makes perfect sense that he got SciFi HD and USA HD. He obviously still had his cable plugged in and his TV still set as Digital Cable. If he disconnected, changed the input setting to antenna and hooked up the Terk to the same input I...

    Comcast OTA

If you were receiving SciFi HD and USA HD you were not getting that signal from your Terk antenna, it was coming over clear QAM from Comcast. Make sure your TV is on the right input for the antenna to see what it picks up. Regarding the digital switchover, that does not affect Cable. Only...

Any new Hd Channels due out?

I've seen AMC HD as a OnDemand option here (been watching Breaking Bad in HD on using it), but didn't know it existed as a linear channel.

Comcast moving most analog to digital

Four technologies Comcast needs to implement to really compete with Dish, DirecTV & FiOS in no particular order: 1) 1024 QAM 2) MPEG 4 3) SDV - Switched Digital Video 4) DOCSIS 3.0

Any new Hd Channels due out?

First time I've seen AMC HD even mentioned.... have yet to see anyone confirm receiving TLC HD in their area (I have AP, History, CNN and SciFi here already).

Comcast moving most analog to digital

With QAM 256: 1 analog = ~20 SD digitals or ~3-4 HD channels It would be an easy bandwidth fix for Comcast to go almost completely digital, but I think they're worried about losing a lot of the grannies and luddites out there who think that all Comcast wants to do is charge them more by...
