VOOM was removed from *E for a very good reason; the same old, tired programs were played over and over ad nauseum. It became a waste of bandwidth and *E made a very good business decision. Let's hope VZ learns from *E's mistake.

Your installer may not have known of the channel change, but I can't understand why he/she wouldn't. If you're in the NTX or FL area, the change happened on the 6th and 7th and may take a couple of days to clear up.

We're short by about 15 but those may be sent around 10/20 according to their website. I can live with that.

FIOS has changed the date the new channels will arrive here in NTX. Looks like the date has moved up a couple of days from the 8th to the 6th.

It looks like Verizon is adding a few more channels for the Olympics. So far, CNBC-HD is showing up on channel 879, USA-HD is on 884, regular CNBC is on 918 and something called "live Soccer" is active, but just showing color bars on channel 896. My Tivo hasn't alerted me to these new stations...

It acts just as a cable DVR, only far better than any Moto box made. It has a larger capacity hard drive and the capability of adding even larger drives as well as adding a second drive. It's a pretty slick machine. The downside is that you don't get video on demand. Some people can't live...

Presently, Vz only has the S cards, but sometime in the future, M cards should become available. Tivo HD can use either two S cards or one M card and the Tivo Series 3 requires two cards no matter which card you have.

Yes. Both the Series 3 and Tivo HD work well with FIOS.

Based upon what I've seen, you won't get any kind of response from FIOS one way or the other. The channels just "appear" out of nowhere. I've never seen or heard Verizon talk about what's on the radar.

This was posted on the DSL Reports website a few weeks ago. Whether or not it's true is anybody's guess but some people have received the new IPG as indicated on the schedule - who knows? OK guys/gals I GOT THE DATES: MA 8/2 new customers only NJ/PA/DE 8/2 extisting customers...

I'm in the same category you're in. I believe we have to wait for the new IPG before the new remote does everything.

In addition to the usual "Music Choice" channels we're now getting, we're apparently going to get an additional 47 brought to us by MTV. They're on in the Dallas-Ft Worth area at this time. Not sure how many other areas have it yet. Channels 647 - 694. The MC channels still occupy the lower 6XX.

We had Charter in Carrollton as well. No HD and no hope of getting it until Comcast finally entered the scene a couple of months ago, and they were swapped with TW. I was so disgusted with Charter, I canx and went with an OTA antenna. I was sick and tired of being gouged good money for poor service.

I think Dallas and the surrounding areas were swapped (Comcast to TW) last week. I've heard a few coworkers complaining about losing the NFL Network over the swap, but other than that, they seem indifferent over the whole thing.
