I meant Scott that I read someplace it was dependent on how far you are from the VRAD. I wouldn't be terribly far from it about 60 ft. But I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Since you have it how would you grade compared to the satellite or cable companies?

Lucky for me I'm the only that seems to care about HD. I hate Charter and D* might not be an option soon. Isn't the picture quality dependent on location?

Yea! But it doesn't sound like they are not dead. They are the main reason I use satellite. They are the worst cable company I've ever seen. I suspect they will hold on and use this as an excuse to provide even worse service at a higher price.

My D* contract runs out next summer so if it is then and I have a different alternative to Charter Cable I will be a happy camper.

I just spotted a couple of sets of large beige cabinets that look brand new down an alley way in front of my street. So I guess we will be getting it soon. :up

Thanks for all the information. The website says they don't offer it in my area yet. I've seen the big orange spools, black spools and I've seen them snaking something down my street. I have not seen those cabinets yet.

Thanks for the info and I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Right now I have D* but unless another Katrina comes through here I will be treed out by next summer and have to with Charter cable which really stinks around here. I was just hoping I would have the FIOS option.

It really depends on where you live. We have Charter and it really sucks. I've been with D* for 8 years and do not want any part of Charter. I might have to because of trees. Checkout what you want from TV and then see if sat is even an option.

I want to thank you guys for both inputs. I hate Charter for many reasons. I would have to pay 70.00 a month for their digital package plus another ten for their HD package which isn't much I can get for free. God I hate cable. I hope that isn't my only option. :(

No they charge 6,000 to get it down and another 2,000 to haul it off. I bet they do turn around and sell to someone. Also my HOA charges you 500 for the permit to have the tree cut down. Perhaps if I chain something like 20 woodpeckers to the trees they could do the job? Or I can just wait...
