    looks like the splitter with power passing goes to lnb port 1 on switch. should not matter what port the box is on one or two they should still talk to each other and HD is all on the same sat

    yes that is the one. box to box is no good it will create a short as each box is trying to send voltage to the lnb and will kill the box. one thing im not sure of is the lnb you have is a dual out universal ?

    DTV 4x4 is not for universal Kuband like sky uses . the 4x4 switch that sky uses are a hard find as they have built the switch into the lnb for some time. The new sky system requires a switch that will let the boxes verify they can talk to the master box to prevent theft of service.

    u can search at the same place that has your tbs5980 as some of there cards have a location for a cam slot but to use a dish card or any us provider card they must be in a subbed box to work so your SOL and yes you might want to be a upstanding person but this is tipping on hack talk .

    those are cool but id fell better using the cheap pos meeter. Those work on the old method of dragging a small tv and box and power to the roof but is all in one now. I keep 2 pos in my truck when my bat goes south on my supper sat buddy.

    for 100 don't think it will work any better then a $10-15 meeter. If your getting a birdog for $100 then it might be worth it . as for the pointing and it telling you the azimuth that the dish is pointing i dont think so my 900$ meeter just tells me about where i should point and my $1 compass...
