    HTS actuator help

In the photo, that looks like a spanner hole to me. That bearing/bushing holder might just thread out of the tube if you can apply the right rotational torque to it. Sent from my Commodore P.E.T. using the SatelliteGuys app!

10ft Mesh Buttonhook... My New Find

If the buttonhook is structurally sound, as Titanium states, keep it. If you want to stabilize it more, then you can fashion guy wires and turnbuckles to keep it from sagging. Sent from my Commodore P.E.T. using the SatelliteGuys app!

    Help with new Satellite Receiver

When you have the motor set for USALS and it is on 97, set it to no motor. This should keep it on where the motor thinks 97 is. It shouldn't be too difficult once you turn the motor off. Peak moving left and right(azimuth), and then up and down(elevation). Once you have peak on 97, lock down and...

Anyone using the Orthomode Feedhorn from TEK2000/Aliexpress ?

Not sure if Nickless still has them. www.nsccom.com I picked a couple up from them a few years back. Sent from my SM-N975U using the SatelliteGuys app!

Can anyone tell the size from the pictures?

Thanks for the responses. I still haven't retrieved it due to extreme heat and now rain. I will try to document the rescue process. I fit my last 10 foot rescue into a Subaru Outback, but have better options this go round. Sent from my SM-N975U using the SatelliteGuys app!

Can anyone tell the size from the pictures?

It is a 10' and I'm working out when to get it. It will move 50 miles east and 10 miles north, so I'm going to pull the reflector off the mount and halve it and try to not move anything on the mount. Markers, string, and Ziploc bags to isolate the parts. Not my first one, so I know the drill...

Can anyone tell the size from the pictures?

I think this is an 8 footer. I can get it for free. I prefer a 10 footer, but free is good. Could it be a 10'? I know it is a winegard. Sent from my SM-N975U using the SatelliteGuys app!

    dish alignment

Have you done the string test to make sure the geometry is still good? Did you do anything that would affect the parabola? It sounds like you have done a lot of different things that should have delivered results if the dish were true. You have enough knowledge and ability that is for sure. You...

Installing my first motorized C Band Satellite Dish (w/pictures)

Great suggestion Rima. I am always envious of your fabrications. Rambo, nice work with your project. Time spent setting things up precisely up front will mean more time enjoying the signals and less time fiddling with things later.

Satellite Motor gearbox and chain drive for azimuth.

Looks like a 2 axis control system to me. Elevation is controlled by the standard actuator and azimuth is controlled by the drive you have circled in red.

    New Linkbox 9000i

It sounds to me like the receiver is working and just needs to scan the current signals in. You said yor dish was aligned to 55w. Press the menu button on the receivers remote control when the TV displays "No Ch" and see if anything happens.

Can underground wire go bad with no visible breaks in it???

Did you use an ohm meter to verify that at least one wire is bad?

    Anyone buy the tek2000 dish?

If you are near St. Louis, I have a KTI polar mount for a 10'. Pretty sturdy.

    New Mini-BUD Install

Wasn't there a fix for the fence post difference? Like a pvc coupling slightly bored out to make up the difference? This was the case with the bargain dish from WSI.

    Future of C-Band Paid Programming

A lot of us know that Brian was trolling with that acronym. A few of us knew it was the Wife Approval/Acceptance Factor. If the wife can pick up a remote and easily find something to watch, the WAF is high.

Picking Up My First BirdView C-Band Dish

If you do that, make sure you use some anti-sieze compund. The dissimilar metals cause a galvanic reaction that can be like welding or in the worst case, accelerate corrosion.

Chaparral Corotor II Dual Band Feed Horn C & KU Band LNB

The other consideration is how you are going to power the LNBs. This is more important if you will be using multiple receivers at the same time. I used the 8115 version for my c-band setup and was very pleased.

    Brought home a Birdview today

If you are using steel threaded rod in aluminum nubs, make sure you use a good anti-sieze compound. There WILL be a galvanic reaction between dis-similar metals.

    SES1 Signal Degradation

The latest PLL LNBFs are priced right for us tinkerers. Less than $50 for a Ku band PLL LNBF and less than $60 for a C band PLL LNBF now.

    need some info

I kept my 10' kti polar mount for a future project involving one of these Prodelins. The Prodelins are heavy dishes. I doubt I could handle the dish alone. At the edge of a roof on a pole to boot? Definitely not a 1 man job if the dish can be had for a decent price.

2 or 4 c band lnbf scalar ring. Anybody order one?

With 3D printing becoming more common, parts like this made of metal should be more readily available. The laser sintering method builds items up in very precise increments.

2 or 4 c band lnbf scalar ring. Anybody order one?

Magic is right. Snake oil as it was presented in the photo. You would be better off using a Dremel tool and mating two metal scalars.

    Dusting off the BUD

Welcome swynens! If you have any tech experience change the battery yourself. It is not too daunting a challenge. If the unit ID on screen matches what is on the back panel, you haven't lost anything, yet. ATS is no longer in business and the other person/company that performs the battery...
