Hauled this in over the weekend

It does have an extremely satisfying grumble. You described my powertrain perfectly, I'm a sucker for keeping things stock so its got the 350 with the Q-Jet. The motor itself is actually aftermarket, the original motor was a 305 with that junky Electronic Spark Control. The previous (original)...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

I'll snap a few when I get back to the house this afternoon.

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

They are separate line items, I left it in the "On" setting. Thats what I fugured "strength" meant as I've seen others mention it that way. Turning the LNB power to "off" changes nothing, however disconnecting the coax does result in all 0's. (Well 12% strength actually, what a near useless...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

Ku LNBF: GEOSATpro SL1PLL LO: 10750MHz Zip: 75418 Signal Quality: 0% LNBF is powered on per the "Strength" Reading. Reciever settings match the current LNB. Reciever is X2 M1HD. Power setting is "ON" which I take to be automatic as 13/18V and OFF are the only other options. Thanks so much for...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

J is now at the bottom and I flipped the bracket as suggested. I suppose at this point we'll take it from the top, I cannot get 99W or 97W on ku.

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

Thank you for your help! I'll try swapping the mount back over to A and go from there, great tip for the pole! I think if I just raised the dish slightly on the mount I should be good to go, think I could temporarily get away with bumping the dish up on the clamp and just using the bottom two...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

Good to know! I'll keep trying at it. A sat guy I talked to did say G19 was just about straight up. (Which is good since now I know I'm adjusting elevation correctly, plus using the "A" scale the feedhorn arm kept hitting the roof mount post.) One a side note, I have been impressed so far with...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

Ultimately the Geosat will be fixed to Galaxy 19, with the BUD aiming at AMC-8.

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

The Bolt was installed through B since the satellites I need to hit are above 50. (Aside from AMC-8 which is at about 30 degrees for my location) Admittedly I had a somewhat hard time following the Geosat instructions beyond initial assembly. Using the "B" side of elevation shoots the dish...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

Almost sounds like the C-Band LNBF needs to be as far back as possible (If I'm picturing the LNBF correctly). I have a dedicated XDS sat receiver that should help things a bit, talking to cumulus they said Radio Disney tried to use the 90cm dishes with what they called disastrous results. (In...

C Band LNB Placement on 90cm

I'm wanting to experiment a bit before I put my BUD up. I have a geosatpro 90cm dish and a Titanium Satellite C-Band LNB. I also purchased a bracket to mount the LNB to my dish that came with a MASSIVE scaler. The main question I have is what the focal distance needs to be when I mount the LNB...

Hauled this in over the weekend

Good to know! I measured it out and it was at 7.5, I was afraid I had warped it. Mesh is in pretty good shape, only a few hail dents that I can push out with a finger. The dish and pickup are probably nearing the same age, the truck is an 82 Chevy C10.

Hauled this in over the weekend

Managed to get this 8-foot dish from a friend in the local WISP company. Cone Says "Home Cable", all the motors seem to still work on 12V despite being 24V. Has a California Amplifier motorized LNB. Supposedly the dish sat unused since the 90s on a roof.

    AMC-8 and Galaxy-16

Talking with Cumulus the Radio Disney affiliates attempted to hit AMC-8 with the 3ft dishes with mixed results, mostly bad. Should be a fun challenge! The next project will be converting a 6foot Wireless Internet dish for sat use.

    AMC-8 and Galaxy-16

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm brand spankin' new to the FTA scene (and sattelites in general aside from programming broadcast recievers) so I'm looking forward to the challenge of unfamiliar territory! At the moment I'm using a geosatpro 90cm dish, have a X2 reciever on backorder with a...

    AMC-8 and Galaxy-16

Has anyone here been able to see all the services available on AMC-8 and Galaxy 16? These satellites are the grandaddy of radio brosdcasting and I was wondering if any recievers were capable of "seeing" anything on this bird. Being a broadcaster by trade I'm mostly curious if anyone can hear...
