    no audio with HDD 200

Yep - definitely an issue with my HDD200.

    Free Bud

Well, judging by that mount, I would say it was made by Jewpiter Systems ;-)

    36" Actuator on a 6' dish

It should work - just make sure the pole is high enough where the motor doesn't touch the ground and set the limit switch to prevent damage to the dish or mount from overextending the arm.

what size dish does this appear to be

    Probably a 7 1/2'.

Got 10 ft up and pics

I don't know if it's better but it's definitely cheaper if you know how to solder. Those caps should only cost a couple of bucks.

Got 10 ft up and pics

OK I Googled and found it - the caps are C809 and C810 on the front power supply. One is a 10uf and the other is a 33 uf electrolytic capacitor. Remove the front panel and you can unsolder both without removing the power supply. Their identifiers are etched on the back of the power supply. Use a...

Got 10 ft up and pics

If I recall correctly, this issue is fairly common and is caused by a bad capacitor on the front panel of the TRX-80. I don't remember the cap label. I did this repair a few times but it has been years. It's not that hard but you have to remove the front panel.

Okay, I'll bite. What the heck is "the top of the s"?

    10' Unimesh value?

The string test is done by running a string tightly across the diameter of the dish from rim to rim, then running another string perpendicular to that string. If the shape of the dish is true, the strings should touch a the intersection while remaining straight.

    10' Unimesh value?

I installed many 10' Unimesh dishes and had excellent results with both C and Ku. The main thing is that it still has a good parabolic shape. It should definitely outperform the 7.5' if it's in good shape.

    Paraclipse Hydro Midi-BUD

Geosat's 2.4 meter prime focus dish is very flat with an F/D ratio of .46. Still out of spec but pretty close to .5. Maybe they meant for it to be used with that dish.

    LNA vs. LNB Feedhorn

No, an LNB will bolt on the same as an LNA. The difference is the downconverter is built in to the LNB.

spot for a cheap, new dish?

The dish in the picture is a Winegard perf, not a Quadstar. The pinnacle perf mount would not work with a Quadstar without some custom fabrication - totally different styles of mounts.

    Corotor II Plus Assembly/Install Questions

I think they say to use 2 gaskets because both the feed flange and the LNB flange have a gasket recess and the elbow side that goes to the feed does not.

    What dish/mount is this?

It is an Ajak 180 H-H mount but I don't think the dish is Unimesh because the inner mesh support is round tubing and the Unimesh dishes had square tubing. Maybe a Perfect 10.

How long have you had C band ?

I bought my first C-Band system in 1985, right before HBO scrambled - 8.5' Raydx dish and a Drake 424 receiver/positioner set. Got a standalone VC2 in 1986, then went to a Chaparral Sierra II, then a Chaparral Sierra III IRD, then Chaparral Monterey 50, then a GI 920 4DTV, and finally a Motorola...

    What dish did I find?

I think that is an early "Perfect 10" (also marketed as Laser) dish. Or maybe a later MacGregor dish. They both had the offset style mount like that.

    Houston Texas C-Band Stuff

I had a satellite company in Houston from 1988-1999. I just cleaned out my garage and I have several feedhorns, feed covers and DSS LNBs. If anyone is in Houston and wants this stuff I will let it go CHEAP. Here is what I have: Several Chaparral polarotor 1E feedhorns 1 - Chaparral Bullseye I...

    CALAMP centerline feed horn

I installed some of the Centerline feeds (same as ADL) back in the 80's & 90's, mainly in high TI areas. The feed worked well, although it was a little heavy and bulky compared to the Chaparral. I had to do a cut out on the feed cover base plates with these to allow for the position of the Ku...

Test Dish - Perfect 10 Ten Footer

I installed hundreds of the Perfect 10 (Laser) dishes in the 90's, both 7.5' and 10' versions, and always got very good results with them. The .375 F/D ratio seemed to be just right for both C & Ku band. Should work great for a test dish.

Body Double, Next of Kin, Down and Out in Beverly Hills and the opening of The Sopranos all have C Band dishes.

    f/d on my 10'

The quad feed support legs should be slotted where you can leave the f/d at .38 and adjust it in using the slots. If it's still not close enough to the reflector after adjusting it all the way in on the slots, then you would need to shim it.

Got the 7.6 Ft Unimesh Today - Some Surprises have Pics

Actually, the second to last picture is a Unimesh mount - the very first ones they made in the late 80s had the flat mounting tabs like that. Later ones had saddles that wrapped around the ribs.

    Pole size vs. roofline...need opinions...

The amount of pipe required above the roof line depends on the pitch of the roof and the orientation the mount. You will probably need a longer pipe or an extension because if you go 2 1/2' deep into the ground, that will only leave 1 1/2 feet above the roof. If you can attach the pole to the...
