    DSR 905

I think one issue would be the loss of "generic" tiles. These allow you to "tune" the 905 so that you could, in theory, find feeds or other DC II signals that you could receive.

The Official 4DTV Maps Experimentation Thread

A much belated thanks for posting the diagram. I've been on the road far too much lately and have fallen behind on the fun projects. I will see what I can do with it and if I make progress I will report it back here. Thanks again for posting....

Official 4DTV Conversion to W5/X4 services only infornmation post

Thanks TvroPro. I want to subscribe in the new year but I don't want to get hit with anything from Motorola in the next couple days. Sounds like get the 920 on W5/X4 ASAP to get the tile and maps and then turn it off. As for the 905, figure it out after the 5th I guess as I can't get it...

Official 4DTV Conversion to W5/X4 services only infornmation post

I have a couple quick questions. I've looked but don't see quite what to do for my situation. I have been traveling so much I haven't been following this as close as I should be. I have a 920 that still works fine that was previously authorized (now inactive) and the maps are a bit stale (but...

The Future, The Truth, 4DTV, 410

Welcome Tim and thanks for the info. I know we still have many more questions than answers but do we know if a DSR 905 will work with W5 next year? Will it need to be "activated" before 12/31 to work if the answer is yes?

Interesting 4DTV information for the techie

Any idea where one can still buy a "wiggler" that will work with these receivers?

    AMC 18 @ 105

Good to know. Thanks. I want to change the battery before moving the 920 to test with the 6 foot fixed. Sorry for taking a tangent on this thread.

    AMC 18 @ 105

I can't get the S2 TPs (haven't tried the DCII) with a 6 foot fixed dish in (SF) CA with a Diamond 9000. I tried the same tuning technique as Iceberg as 107 C-Band booms in for me. I am considering going to an 8 foot dish but will try DCII 1st. I'll try to keep ya'll posted.

    Ku on a big BUD

I've used an SL1P - GEOSATpro SINGLE STANDARD KU PRIME FOCUS LNBF from SatelliteAV. I've used it with good success on my 1.8m fixed dish with an adapter bracket that is available from Sadoun and others. The price is very good as well. Please ignore if you are just looking for an LNB.

Thanks! I just posted in another thread asking a similar question. I just fixed the arc on my motorized Ku setup and was trying to get OETA with no luck.

How Long Have You Had Your BUD?

Got my first 2 BUDs in 2006. They are both Paraclipse 12 footers but they are too big for my yard in CA so they have been in storage. I've picked up a few more dishes over the past year and finally got my first BUD up and running last week! Lots of fun!

    ku hunting

It looked like Ku was going to get popular with the HITS package and the recently repurposed DSR410s before they moved the content back to C-Band. It is a shame as I think you would get more customers in total.

    ku hunting

Is he referring to the problem of downloading maps from the Canadian sats that screw up the 920 and 922? A 905 is OK if its in "business" mode or something like that. I suspect your DSR505 is probably fine as it is intended for these sats?

    LNB ADVICE NEEDED

I think it sounds like you might have a Ku band dish and you want to add a C-Band LNB? Answers to all the questions above would certainly clarify, but if my assumption is correct, you may want to look at combination C and Ku LNBs that have one of each in common packaging, especially if you plan...

Linear Actuators at a Good Price?

I just received an order I placed from All Electronics Corporation in Van Nuys, CA. They are selling SuperJack HARL 3618+ 36V 18" actuators (new in the box) for $34.95 each and a $7.00 flat fee shipping. The specs for the are on their website. Looks to be slightly less supported weight than...

    videocipher rs module

I don't think so. If I recall correctly, that mode of encryption was for analog satellite signals and was phased out in the last year. Maybe a couple channels left (weather?) but I don't think any commercial services support the technology.

No rush. Whenever is fine. Too much work and travel at the moment to do anything outside. It will still be nice to think about and plan for the new LNBs! Thanks!
