    Hot transponder ? 87W - 95W

Thanks for the responses. I'm having no success and plan on relocating my dish ( easy to do ) to another temporary location with a wide, unobstructed view. Trying to acquire a signal thru a gap in the evergreens is not helping my confidence. :)

    Hot transponder ? 87W - 95W

C-band . I have a motorized Ku setup that works just fine for my humble needs. I'd like to get back into C-band again, but have severe limits on the arc that I can hit effectively. I'm in Holland , Mi which is almost azimuth 180 degrees to 87W .

    Hot transponder ? 87W - 95W

I'm looking for the hottest tp between 87W and 95W , to set up my 4 foot little ugly dish. This is my first setup of a fixed mount prime focus dish ( which doesn't make it any easier) , and being a 4 footer, not as easy as my old 6 footer. :) Thanks for any help ! Brent

    installing a actuator on a 6'ft dish

Not WSI ? Explains why I thought it looked quite strange . :) I'd prefer to see the actuator mount attached to the dish at the horizontal axis, rather that somewhat higher, as it is. Seems the current positioning might result in a twisting torque motion , rather than a smooth push-pull along...

    installing a actuator on a 6'ft dish

Looks a little strange. First thing I see though, is the lnbf supports are at the wrong spot. They should be about 6 inches in at the notches , by the first row of bolts. See my pic.

    installing a actuator on a 6'ft dish

When you install the actuator, you want it extended halfway at the center of your arc ( the true south point) . That will give you the maximum traverse to the east and west. Extend the actuator to the mid-point, rotate the dish mount so the dish is aimed at true south, then snug down the...

    WSI 6foot dish

87W is my true south satellite, and I have to bump the dish to change from the 3800 mux to the 4080 mux. That bumping the dish might not be necessary if you are substantially farther east or west than I am. The increased angle might work to your advantage in getting both at the same azimuth. :)

    WSI 6foot dish

I get 3800 most days, and 4080 just occasionally. I have to bump the dish to get the other tp. Both tp's cannot be locked at the same azimuth . I center my dish on 3830 V 14000, a nice strong tp. :)

    S9 stuck on 23 Volts

Here it was in stock. Seems to me that the stores in outside plazas usually have component parts, and the ones in the malls only sell cell phones, etc. :)

    S9 stuck on 23 Volts

Radio Shack also carried the regulator, I have a spare in my drawer. Their part number is 276-1778 . :)

    WSI 6foot dish

You'll probably have to sand and paint them every year, like I do ! :)

    WSI 6foot dish

WSI told us the story when they first put them up for sale. They made no attempt to disguise the fact that these dishes were not up to our usual standards, and therefore, were being sold "CHEAP" . Mine is still working, and I'm glad that I bought it. I still wouldn't have c-band without it...

    2 actuators?

The small actuator looks like maybe a declination adjuster. Never seen anything like that, I must say .

    8.5 feet vs 12 feet

Echo Stogie's advice. If you get a hitch that's designed for your vehicle, it goes in pretty easy ( can't say you won't get dirty, though ) . :)

    Orthomode Setup

I see only one lnb ! My orthomode feed has an lnb for each polarity . I can't see how you can get two both polarities with your single lnb setup.

    Orthomode Setup

Have you modified the WNC multiswitch to provide only 18vdc to the lnb's ? If not, possibly you are starving the lnb's of power. Definitely adjust skew by post 6 & 7 . :) Pendragon's mod is here. http://www.satelliteguys.us/fta-shack/174802-naughty-mods-ii-4x8-switch-all.html .

    Future of C-Band Paid Programming

My phone costs $104 a month ( with internet from Charter) and my DirectTV bill is $101 a month. I guess that makes the Verizon a bargain ! :) These things cost too much, but the choice is not to have them. I also subscribe to MLBTV Premium , and have a Sprint account for my wife's cell...

GEOSAT pro C2 or WSI ESX242 lnbf?

I've had both and couldn't tell the difference. Either will do a good job for you, if you can get a special deal on one or the other. Neither is a match for spending $150 dollars more and getting an orthomode feed setup ! :)

10 foot dish on ebay in Michigan

I think $110 delivered would be a fair price. :) I'm not looking forward to busting my gut anymore. Even those 80 lb bags of redi-mix are getting to be a handlful. :)

does anyone have any experience on extending the dish bail for the actuator?

"It's different modulation. S2 stands for Second Generation. Incorporates more "points"(4 or more) and a pilot carrier. DVB-S only utilized 4, and no pilot. " QPSK modulation ( used in both DVB-S and DVB-S2) has 4 data points per symbol. 8PSK modulation ( used in only DVB-S2) had 8 data...

My guess is that if there's no action for a week or so, the price gets pretty negotiable. :)
