    can this dish be motorized?

Maybe if you could find a polar mount for it. Sadoun carries a 1.8 meter dish that comes with the polar mount for almost exactly the same price, but the shipping's not free. All you would need to motorize it is an actuator. Here's the link: Polar Mount Style SD180PM Sadoun 180CM Prime focus...

I liked Enterprise. It's a shame they pulled the plug on it though. Just when the plot was starting to get good.

Reminds me when I used to get Fox News from NPS, there was this one commercial with a loudmouthed guy who was approaching the camera and pointing at you. Then just as he was about to open his mouth to say something bam another commercial was spliced in over him...always gave me a chuckle when...

on c band 6 feet dish should i get polar mount or stationary

Maybe he means 166E? Although I think that's below the horizon for PA.

    installing a 6 foot dish

It depends on your location, the satellite(s) you're trying to receive, and the height of the tree(s) in question. I have a 20' tree that is about 15' or so in front of my 10' and 4' dishes, but since my lattitude is around 30 degrees and the tree is due south it doesn't really interfere with...

    Dish indentification

Is the dish also missing one of it's mesh panels? I noticed that it looked as if one was missing in your first set of pictures and the shadow of your second set of picutres seems to indicate that a panel is missing as well. If the dish is on the south side of your house you most likely won't...

    Dish indentification

For my ten footer, I move the dish to the lowest position I can, and then I use an eight foot ladder (one that supports itself) to get up to the feedhorn. It takes a bit of getting used to be once you do it a few times it's not too bad. I wouldn't recommended leaning anything up against the...

    Can I get ABC?

I'm on DSL with 3.0 Mbps, which is less speed than a cable internet connection would have. Netflix works like a charm streaming. It doesn't take all that long to buffer or anything. I find it's working a lot better since they ditched the media player system and went to Silverlight.

    I Screwed Up Big Time!!!

From what I've read on the forum, if you have a smaller dish it can help having better quality LNBs. I only have a 10' so I can't attest to how expensive LNBs compare to voltage controlled LNBs on smaller dishes.

    I Screwed Up Big Time!!!

The main advantage is that you don't need a servo to control the poloarity. This means you can use a multi switch to connect the feedhorn to your FTA receiver. Basically to get it into one cable you use a multi switch to connect to both LNBs and then use the receiver out to connect to your...

    SPS Satellite Programming Service Inc.

I could have lived with the picture quality of the reuplinks. The only one my husband wanted was Fox News and I got tired of paying $32/month for one channel. I did subscribe to the movie packages a couple of times and the picture quality was excellent on those, but I find I don't usually have...

    SPS Satellite Programming Service Inc.

I don't know what the future holds for the 4dtv. I dropped Dish and went with 4dtv for about 6 months because I was tired of paying dish prices to watch a handful of channels. The 4dtv was nice, but a lot of the channels I wanted were reuplinked and the picture wasn't all that hot. Also you...

Here's an idea... Why no HD via HITS??

Yes, but keep in mind not everyone likes doing business over the internet, and sometimes it is a necessity to talk to a live person when you are having an issue. By not having a call center at all you would be alienating those potential customers. Personally I like being able to go onto a...

    4dtv for sale anyone?

I have a 920 with the HD unit that I would be willing to part with. I had an active sub on it up until last month, and the battery has been changed in the last couple of years. I'd be willing to part with it for $150 plus shipping cost. You can PM if you're interested. Edit: Price includes...

How Long Have You Had Your BUD?

My parents got the 10 foot Perfect 10 that I'm using at the moment in 1992. When they built a new house they deeded this property over to my brother and me. The BUD came with the property.

Sonicview Elite Slave to 922 or 922 Slave to Sonicview Elite

The easiest way to slave a two receivers is with a Hi-Freq splitter. You just make sure that the splitter only allows power to pass on one side. As far as which side gets the power pass, that depends on which receiver you want to power the LNB and control polarity (assuming you have a voltage...

    Hi guys. One ?

I think what you're trying to ask is...do you have to use the lnb clamp that was provided with your lnb to get more transponders because you're not getting all of the C-band TPs that you want. You could be having two issues. To answer the first question, no you don't have to use the provided...

    unscrambled weather on 107.3

I was getting Fox News and Nat Geo in the clear on 91 for the most part of last month. They are both PowerVu. They're encrypted now. I was getting Fox business news in the clear the other day, but there was no audio, although I was fiddling around with my setup at the time so it may be...

    Flat Ribbon Coax cable source?

If you want the actual ribbon cable, I've found a couple of places that carry it. Skyvision offers a 100ft roll for about $97. Satellite Mart offers it for 99 cents per foot or $90 for a 100ft roll. Finally The Satellite Shop offers it for 99 cents per foot or the only other option they have...

    Feedhorn/LNB Identification

I tried setting up both of the motorized dishes using the 22Khz switch as Anole suggested. It didn't work like I wanted. My Gbox kept moving the big dish even when I wanted to just move the little dish. I've also hooked up a 4dtv to the system and I got tired of switching back and forth...

    Feedhorn/LNB Identification

That could work. I'm willing to try it anyway. I don't see how it could hurt anything. It would pretty much be like my original USALS setup only I'd add a 22k switch between the receiver and motor.
