Update. I put everything on hold because I want to try Sky Angel's IPTV service. Turns out I can get SA and high speed internet and a landline phone for not much more than I am already paying. I should be getting t soon so I can evaluate it then. Ken

Strange development today. Skyangel now carries the Gospel Music Channel! Which the main channel I wanted to get with the big dish. Hmmm..........desicions desicions.

I got to the scrapyard today. I got my pole. I tried it out and it's a perfect fit. Now I gotta get it in the ground. Oh by the way - $20. Ken

I haven't looked at the LNB yet because i have another issue to resolve. I need a steel pipe that's 4" iner lip to inner lip and 4 1/2" outer lip to outer lip. I have a call out to some people to get one. Any ideas on where to look to find a cheap one. i was quoted $300 for a new one...

I got another question. Do I need a special LNBF to get 4dtv? Can I use the one that came with the dish I got?

Oh forgot to mention - I called a local installer and he quoted $1000 for intallation. Unbelievable!!

I'm planning the next step. I need a pole to set this thing into. What do need to consider to determine what I should get? Can I put this thing into the ground myself?

Got the dish today. It wasn't to bad to take apart. It fit in the van and now it's in my shed. Step 1 complete.

New question. I will have to take apart the dish that I have set up to get. Is it a big deal tp take apart and put together? Are there any precautions I should take?

Cband is definitly a differant animal then I am used to. I have an 8 ft dish lined up, it's hooked up and works. I just have to move it. As far as the future of the GMC and me - Only time will tell. Anyone interested in recording the channel for me and sending it over to my house? :)

I hear you Iceberg but everything just doesn't jive together. For what you said to be true a subcriber would have to get a free channel that's completely unadvertised. If it's so then it is, but it's not what I'm hearing for the subscriber or the channel.

No she was in the know. She was not customer service, customer service sent me to her when I asked for someone who had technical information on the satellite feed of the GMC. I called NPS and they said they don't carry the channel. if you get it as a free one with a package that doen't make...

To compound matters this is what I found out from talking directly to a GMC representative. She said GMC is not available on cband FTA or subscription! Anyone getting GMC is getting a wild feed is what she said. GMC did not think it was worthwhile to them to be available through cband...

voomvoom Help me I have called 3 differant satellite providers (Big dish) and none carry Gospel Music Channel. voomvoom what do you subcribe to? I think i need to call them.
