    BUD Winterization???

Years ago they used to sell a Dish Shaker kit.. when you pushed the button inside the house, it would vibrate the heck outta the dish and basically shake the snow off the dish (or through it, in the case of a mesh dish)

    Tilt-up c-band dish?

duh.. that's what I get for half reading. I'm sure you're right!

    Tilt-up c-band dish?

If you don't want the dish high in the yard because of visibility issues - you might consider digging down and planting the dish below ground level - depending on how much space you have, and your line of site, it'd be doable - add a fence around it for safety and further visibility factors and...

    FreeCycling C Band Dishes

I prefer an extra 1-2 guys and just loosening the dish from the pole and lifting it up while supporting the back (twisting back and forth as you lift, since it will tend to bind up otherwise). With a full-sized pickup, you can take an assembled 10ft dish and lay it with the back down inside the...

    Should I buy this equipment?

Rather than the corotor, I'd go with the bullseye II so that you don't have to use another receiver to control the polarity. It'll cost you double the amount for LNBs (because you'll use twice the lnbs), but it'll be worth it for the quality, stability, and ease of use.

    ordered pansat s-2 kit

Unfortunately the only site sponsor that sells the s2 board is the same one who obviously caters to hackers. I personally would rather watch a hand drawn poster than buy a card from GO(hacker)satellite.

How to adjust Elevation and Peak the Actuator?

I normally pop the end cap off the actuator and either connect a 12v battery charger to the leads in order to move the dish (not sure how good the 12v feeback into a v-box actually is, so you may not want to do this!), or simply take the two bolts off the motor itself (and remove it) and use a...

    sent me wrong s-2 kit!!

I'd invite him to go ahead. #1, the FBI couldn't give a rat's patootie about signal theft, as signal theft is generally prosecuted on a civil level. #2, contacting dish network would expose that he knows he's selling equipment to illegally intercept their signals. He has a lot more to lose...

    sent me wrong s-2 kit!!

truckracer, that sucks man. I've dealt with tv-toyz on ebay several times since they are relatively close to me. They always seemed to do pretty good by me. however, I won't be buying from them again, as I don't want to be associated with hackers... and I don't wanna support someone who would...

C-Band feedhorn part: what is this called?

Do you have the feedhorn cover? If not, then you don't need this part. Otherwise, I've seen some people fabricate them using some sort of bucket lid before. Otherwise, you'll have to look for someone who has a spare, or order a whole new feedhorn cover, as I doubt they sell the two parts...

    Not by Yourself

I've done my 7.5ft dish myself several times without disassembling. I did have help with a 10 footer because it was muddy, and I didn't want to disassemble it. Otherwise, disassembling and moving a 10 or 12 foot mesh dish is easily a 1 man job... never hurts to have a helping hand though!

Wow, I forgot about that post. Yet, thinking back on this, it still bothers me. Why? Because you represent the comments as quotes from customers. Yet, you've changed the text - I originally saw the quotes with the other product name, so I know the quotes have been changed. Anybody who is...

    I Am Confused!!

Make sure you're using the right switch in your setup. One version of the bsc621 uses an internal 22k switch and the other uses diseqc (the 621-2 uses diseqc since it is a universal lnbf that cannot use 22k switches due to the 22k band switching for universal).

Snow didn't love the BUD afterall

All of my BUDS were fine with the snow, never lost a signal through the 2+ feet of snow this last week. However, I went to church Saturday evening to watch a satellite broadcast with the congregation and there was a message on the screen indicating that the receiver was searching for a signal...

    DSR-410 News

Any idea if the receivers, after being remapped to c-band, will be able to pickup the fixed key stuff that is "free" for people that sub boxes like the 920's and such?

A solid Birdview Dish is in my near future!

If those offset dishes ever pan out, I'd make the trip down that way to pick one up from ya.. and ride along to Tennessee to help out if you needed. I've got some friends/relatives in Chattanooga, Smyrna, and Nashville, but haven't been down there in years anyhow.

    Replacing Actuator

I'm not very good at diagnosing these things ;) If you can describe what wires you have coming from your actuator, and how you have the currently connected, maybe someone here will give you some feedback on how to diagnose it further. Typically, I'll have the two larger wires connected to the...

    Replacing Actuator

Sounds like your sensor wires are not connected correctly (or maybe the sensor is failing?). When I don't have my sensor wires connected to my analog box, it moves just a smidge and then gives me an error.. I can move a little bump at a time manually with the remote, but not smoothly since the...

had a local ad in the local paper for buds..

There are other alternatives... like forward air or others of that nature that will probably be cheaper. People ship appliances/etc that are much heavier for much less through other not so common carriers, so maybe check around a bit

    DSR410 from Skyvision says "WSNet"

I always like to see "Paid Programming" in the guide...makes you feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that you're paying to get programming that someone else paid to get aired.

Skyvision DSR410 LNB issues - I'm losing my marbles!

Yeah, I wouldn't do rg59 for 100ft. I'd look for some good quality RG6 with some good quality compression fittings on the ends.

Skyvision DSR410 LNB issues - I'm losing my marbles!

oops! You should at least be using RG6... probably quadshield. How long is your cable? RG59 may be okay for a short run, but I wouldn't bother with 59. RG6 with compression fittings on the end is pretty much the standard recommendation.

I know this is nitpicky.. but it bugs me that the guy changed the name of the product and then just changed the product name in all of the "direct quotes" from supposed customers on his site. I don't know why that bothers me so much.. but it just does.. it makes me think that someone would...

    Dual (Orthomode) Feedhorn configuration

Yes, no servo. Just one wire (probe/whatever) that goes through the middle. I assume the one wire works as both horizontal and vertical due to one lnb being turned 90 degrees different than the other. However, does it matter if I put the lnb on upside down? Is horizontal the same whether its...
