12 Foot Vs 10 Foot Dishes...

SGS... Regarding a 10 vs 12 footer. One thing to keep in mind is the mathematic reality that a larger dish has a narrower bandwidth. What this means in practical terms is a 12 footer will need to track the arc more accurately than a 10 footer. If you want to use the bigger dish for Ku also...

    DVIDS on 91W

Martyn DVIDS does show some cool uplinks but it is not showing video more than it is. Me personally... I'd shoot for 99, 101, 103 and 105. === ?Bill

    Counts per degree?

One comment I will add in addition to the ones about where you are in the arc and the counts per inch all making a difference. My C-band dish is a good 250 foot run from my receiver. I was having same issue with positions slightly changing and mostly as you going too far which I determined was...

Does anyone sell 8' or larger dishes anymore?

My neighbor and I lifted the dish up on the mount. DH Satellite delivered to my front yard only. The dish was 105 lbs so it was a bear to get up with two people. Three would have been easier. The instructions were very well written and not in Engrish ;-) Here is the paragraph on...

Does anyone sell 8' or larger dishes anymore?

Thanks, Anole. That DH dish is a beast. The one piece 10' 0.125 thickness with 48" ring and mount for 5.5" O.D. pipe was $1059. The 5.5" base was $510. I also bought a 36" Venture actuator from them for $369. I don't remember the delivery cost but it was a few hundred more from Wisconsin to...

Does anyone sell 8' or larger dishes anymore?

BTW... I really wanted to buy from Mike Kohl or Jeff Schumann but they just seem to take too long to resurrect the mesh dishes. === Bill

Does anyone sell 8' or larger dishes anymore?

I bough a 10' spun Aluminum dish from DH Satellite a few months ago. Expensive but well worth it for me. They delivered on a custom trailer to my house after having delivered to a TV station in Mississippi then to my house then the Fox station in Orlando. === Bill

    87 west

Have to agree with Truck racer. I was using an 8 footer here in south Florida (34957) and 87w was among the most flakely satellites I was getting.... especially the RTV muxes on 3920 and 4000. Swapped out my 8 with a solid spun aluminum 10 footer and have not missed anything on 87. Be aware...

Need to wire up a c band mover/arm

ken2400 I have a G-Box hooked to a 36V actuator. The dish is 200 feet from my receiver. I used 6 wire sprinkler wire from Home Depot. Knowing the motor draws a lot of current, I used 2 wires for each of the motor leads, and 1 wire for the sensor leads. I used: Red and the Brown wires to...

    87W RTV Stations

Tweaked the dish but still no 3800's Well I tweaked and tweaked the dish and my LNBF skew & f-d: still no 3800 H signals. I do have 72W AMC6 coming in at 100% quality on my AzBox now. I also have the 87W 4080 H 29125 RTV stations at 75% Q. I do see the same thing as you guys with the 87W...

    87W RTV Stations

Are the RTV stations on 87W 3800 H 29125 up? I can get the ones on my AzBox at 4080 H 29125 just fine with my 8 foot dish. I can see a signal on 3800 H 29125 with my First Strike meter but cannot for the life of me get anything with any combination of PIlot, FEC, SR or Frequency get the 3800...
